When we talk about building something that lasts, we talk about legacy. We're proud to honor a brother whose legacy is already written in the hearts of his chapter, his university, and this fraternity. Maddox Morrow didn't just serve as Academic Chair, New Member Educator, and Chapter President, he built a cultural foundation where Lambda Phi Epsilon became synonymous with excellence, inclusion, and impact. Triple-majoring while mentoring others; lifting his chapter’s GPA from one of the lowest to the highest; co-founding campus-wide efforts to promote health equity and multicultural belonging—every action he took wasn't just to get the work done, it was to make the path easier for those who came next. As a member of the Order of Omega, Phi Beta Kappa, and now the Lambda of the Year, this recipient redefines what leadership looks like when it’s rooted in service, compassion, and vision. Congratulations, and thank you for building the chapter we all want to belong to!

With a 4.0 GPA in Biomedical Engineering, Matthew Pinto—our 2025 Academic Excellence Scholarship recipient—has not only conquered a rigorous academic path but also immersed himself in groundbreaking research. He's developed cryogels for osteoarthritis treatment and pioneered a wheelchair docking system poised for patent approval. His leadership shined as Vice President of Finance of their chapter, where he's fostered brotherhood and championed cultural pride, all while balancing roles as a researcher, lifeguard, and changeover crew member. His unwavering commitment to growth—whether mentoring peers, advocating for underrepresented voices, or pushing the boundaries of medical innovation to uplift underserved communities—is a testament to the fraternity’s core values. He is actively engineering a future where technology restores lives, and leadership leaves an indelible mark.

Our LFE Foundation Forward Strategic Plan was named the recipient of the 's Board Improvement Project of the Year!

Our socialized approached to executing board commitments, enabled by agentic uses of AI, enhanced an already high-performing volunteer cadre to accomplish even more OKRs with less human capital. Operational enhancements—ranging from automated recordkeeping of workflows to structured meeting cadences with fast follows—enabled an agile team of domain experts, bots, and a virtual assistant in Asia to administer scholarship programs, train emerging leaders, and grow donor investment.

After spotlighting financial donors, trustees, and literal live savers, the next series we're excited to highlight is our recent round of scholarship recipients we recognized at last year! We'll first start with our Rising Leader Among Men winner, Danny Alex!

This recipient has demonstrated exceptional academic excellence as a double major in Biological Sciences and Public Health, maintaining a 4.0 GPA while actively engaging in leadership roles across multiple student organizations, including a fraternity, cultural association, and dance team. His dedication to healthcare is evident through his work as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant and his involvement in research at both Florida State University and the University of Florida. Committed to service, he has volunteered with organizations such as Youth Health Leadership, HOME Street Medicine, and the American Red Cross, while also contributing to his chapter’s growth through mentorship and leadership, particularly as External Vice President. His journey in Lambda Phi Epsilon reflects a deep appreciation for brotherhood, personal growth, and community impact, as he has worked to uphold the fraternity’s values, foster cultural awareness, and inspire collective success among his peers.

After registering at a drive, Cao Pham was soon identified as a match, undergoing a seamless peripheral blood stem cell donation process that he describes as being as straightforward as donating blood. He recalls: "During the week of the donation I received a drug called filgrastim to boost my stem cell count at UC Davis Medical. The actual procedure took place in Alta Bates in Berkeley. It’s very similar to donating blood, just a bit longer with a specialized machine to retrieve your new stem cells."

For Cao, the experience underscored a profound truth: while life can be a gamble, we have the power to shift the odds for someone else. "If we have the opportunity to help, there’s literally nothing to lose for us but so much to gain for them," he shares. By sharing his journey, Cao continues to advocate in bridging the gap for minority patients who face uphill battles of finding a match, proving that a temporary commitment from one donor can grant a recipient a lifetime of new possibilities.
