Ella made it to Nairobi where she’ll spend the next seven weeks serving as a Reach summer intern alongside CMF missionaries and our partner (Missions of Hope International). This is her third trip to Kenya—but her first time serving as an intern! 🌍 🇰🇪

Sports Day, or the direct Thai translation "color sports" is a cultural tradition in Thailand with schools and workplaces celebrating each year. It's very similar to "field day" with teams divided by color and competing in various types of events. The kids and staff at Hope Home—assisting children with special needs in Chiang Mai—spread theirs out across a few days to make sure everyone could participate as much as possible, and they had a lot of fun running, jumping, rolling, and cheering. "Wheelchair Jousting" was a new event that was especially popular!

Bethany Rivera, our Director of Mobilization, shared about our 2026 Reach interns, who headed to their respective countries this weekend:

With tired eyes and a grateful heart, I never cease to be amazed by the gift of sending young adults to serve around the world each summer.

The interns change every year. They are younger, I am older (and wayyyyy less cool). What remains is the joy of seeing God alive and moving in the next generation, the love they have to serve the Kingdom, and the hope I feel for the future when I am in the room with them. What an honor it is to know them, love them, and send them out to join incredible CMF teams around the world.

"I send you out to spend your hours and your days in service to others, as stewards of hope, of beauty, of wonder, and of those particular passions and gifts with which you have been uniquely entrusted. Drive with Lynn as she leaves home and heads out across the desert of Turkana, Kenya to gather with a small group of believers.

Lynn helps lead simple, story based discipleship groups where people learn about God together and put what they hear into practice. Alongside local leaders, she’s investing in relationships that don’t stop with one group—but multiply as others begin leading in their own communities.

Lynn and our team in Kenya are doing incredible work, planting over 1,000 churches, seeing thousands of baptisms, starting dozens of clinics in rural areas, feeding the hungry by establishing hundreds of farms in the middle of the desert, and starting dozens of schools in the most undeveloped areas of the country.
