Did you know that Crown Hill has three Medal of Honor winners? This past year, Troop 51 from Crossroads of America Council researched, orienteered and placed wreaths at their gravesites.

Today is National Medal of Honor Day. Indianapolis is proud to be the home to one of three congressionally recognized memorials honoring Medal of Honor recipients. The Medal of Honor is the nation’s highest award for military valor.

It is with great sorrow that we pass along the news of the first Hoosier death of Operation Epic Fury, Captain Seth Koval of Mooresville.

Captain Koval joined their 122nd Fighter Wing of the Indiana National Guard in 2006 and graduated from Purdue in 2011. This was his 5th deployment. He had flown 443 combat missions.

Our prayers are with his family and in particular his wife and children who have asked for privacy during their time of grief.

We stand with the City of Beech Grove and Beech Grove IN Police Department in this difficult time. We will remember Officer Elliot each December, like we do so many others, during the Holiday season with one of our wreaths.

We’re so excited to join HQ in announcing 2026’s theme, . We hope you join us and making a tax deductible donation of a wreath today!

We are happy to announce the official 2026 Wreaths Across America theme: Remember Me.

The theme comes as the nation approaches the 250th anniversary of the United States, a milestone WAA says calls for renewed focus on the individual lives behind America’s military service. “While we often honor service members collectively, each one has a name, a family and a story,” says Karen Worcester, executive director, WAA. “Their sacrifices are deeply personal, and their stories shape the freedoms we enjoy today.”

Share the story of someone who served and time may have forgotten, so we can learn their story and share it with future generations:

The precursor to the Marines began their service in 1775 during the after the Continental Congress called for two battalions capable of fighting on land and sea. After helping achieve independence, the branch disbanded. But two decades later, in the leadup to the Quasi-War with France, Congress officially created the Marine Corps in 1798. John Adams had helped create the first iteration of the Marines. Now, he recognized their rebirth, placing them under the leadership of the Secretary of the .

In their service, the Marines have landed on more than 300 foreign shores and undertaken many of the most consequential operations in U.S. . During the Korean War, General Douglas MacArthur notably remarked: “I have just returned from visiting the Marines at the front, and there is not a finer fighting organization in the world.”
