Thanks to IndyHub, in conjunction with AES, for sponsoring IndyVolved last Thursday. This was a great way to connect with many potential volunteers. We have 14 potential new volunteers for the pantry, some representing groups. Many more took cards and asked questions.

1:48 PM - Due to continued unstable weather, we have decided to close the pantry for the rest of the day. Hope to see you later in the week! For those who are volunteering, we do have some openings on Thursday and Friday!

1:34 PM - Due to lightening in the area, we are temporarily closed for food distribution. We will advise if we close for the day. If you can, we suggest that you plan to come on Thursday or Friday.

On July 31, for the second year in a row employees from Crowe LLP joined us as volunteers - 15 in the morning and 8 in the afternoon. This was part of their annual Crowe Cares Day of Service! The exciting thing was that 12 of them had such a good experience last year that they came back this year. Thanks Crowe! You made a difference!!

12 IU School of Medicine 1st and 2nd year students reflecting on their day of service at Crooked Creek Food Pantry on Thursday July 30. We were impressed with their enthusiasm for their service. But their reflections about the connection between food insecurity and health and life outcomes was heartening! They also were really impressed with our other volunteers. One of them asked several regular volunteers why they volunteered at CCFP and to a person, she was told that they did it to help the people. Right answer volunteers!

THANKS TO ALL VOLUNTEERS!

If you have been at the pantry this summer, you may have noticed these handsome young men. They are our 2026 Wabash College interns. From right to left, meet Logan, Colton and Sam. All are pre-med students. Sam is a rising Sophomore and Colton and Logan are rising Juniors. In addition to helping out at the pantry, some of their time is spent shadowing doctors at Pecar. They also each have a special project. Logan has been helping people with Get Connected, especially those who struggle with the check-in process. (If you haven’t clicked on the DONE screen, you aren’t DONE!) Colton is working on logging our donation weights and suggesting improvements to the process. Sam is reviewing our new Safety Policy with an eye toward areas where we can add signage at the pantry and writing communications/reminders.

They arrived on a staggered basis also in right to left order! So they will start to leave us in early July and will be gone by August.

Can we have interns all year round?!
