๐ MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS, AND SO DOES SPREADING LOVE! ๐
Yesterday, October 10th, was World Mental Health Day, and our POP Girls Mentoring Program spent our Saturday having some much needed conversations about mental health. ๐
We talked about the importance of taking care of our mental health, recognizing our emotions, understanding when we may need help, and knowing that itโs okay to not always be okay.
But we didnโt stop there! ๐
After discussing how to care for our own mental health, we shifted our focus to how we can show up for others who may be going through difficult times.
Our girls worked together on a special project and wrote 97 handwritten letters filled with positive affirmations, encouragement, and motivation for women at a domestic violence shelter. ๐
What touched me the most was seeing how EXCITED the girls were knowing their words could brighten someoneโs day, bring a smile to their face, or remind a woman that she is strong, worthy, loved, and not alone. ๐ฅน๐
97 letters. 97 opportunities to encourage someone. 97 reminders that somebody cares! ๐
Yesterday was about more than just a lesson. It was about teaching our girls empathy, compassion, kindness, and the power of using their voices to uplift others.
At POP Girls, weโre not just mentoring young ladies. Weโre helping shape young women who understand that making a difference doesnโt always require money or big gestures. Sometimes, all it takes is a few kind words and a caring heart. ๐
So proud of our girls! ๐ซถ๐พ
