We pair skilled volunteers with educational institutions to provide mentorship, tutoring, and skill-sharing sessions from primary through tertiary level.

Among our pillars of impact is “Education”

Did you know that Zamaritan offers two awards to students and non-student as an incentive for volunteering. The awards are designed to help stimulate engagement through volunteerism.

Educational awards are granted based on the stipulated hours completed. When a student begins volunteering, they log their hours and day of service on a sheet of paper, which is filed monthly. At the completion of 700 hours, the award is issued.

The award, in the form of a check, is written to the student’s institution of choice upon completion of their tenure or upon graduation from high school.

👉How To Earn The Award: Complete 1,200 hours of voluntary work in an approved program within 2 years
👉Payout: Paid directly to your chosen institution for tuition and expenses

Zambian Government Launches Inclusive Education Guidelines

Government says it is working to ensure that every child has access to education regardless of physical, intellectual, social, linguistic or other challenges.

Education Minister DOUGLAS SYAKALIMA says inclusive education is not merely a policy goal, but a moral obligation and a fundamental human right.

Mr. SYAKALIMA said this in a speech read on his behalf by Ministry of Education Director of Teacher Education and Specialised Services SIDNEY NALUBE in Lusaka.

This was during the launch of guidelines for the implementation of inclusive and special education for teachers.

The guidelines are aimed at strengthening inclusive practices and improving learning outcomes for pupils with special education needs.

Meanwhile, Delegation of the European Union to Zambia representative SONIA GODINHO praised Zambia’s commitment to inclusive education, saying every learner deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential.

And Ministry of Education Specialised Services Assistant Director Dr. MWENYA MWAMBA said the guidelines will help address the diverse learning needs of children requiring special education support.

SLAP DEE GIVES BACK TO HIS FORMER SCHOOL, CHIKANKATA SECONDARY SCHOOL

Musician Mwila Musonda popularly known as Slap Dee, an alumnus from the Class of 2003, accompanied by the XYZ Care’s Foundation, has donated 50 mattresses, paint, and sports equipment to the school.

The donation is aimed at improving the learning environment and supporting students in their academic journey, while also promoting sports and overall wellbeing.

During the visit, Slap Dee toured the school facilities together with the Mission Director and the Acting Deputy Head Teacher.

The school expressed sincere appreciation for his commitment to giving back and for the partnership with XYZ Care’s Foundation in supporting education at Chikankata Secondary School.
