Love it
In an environment of mutual respect, everyone wins! AFSCME Local 661 and the IPS School Board have agreed to a new contract. Among other things, they have agreed to a pay increase and improvements to the way the members' bereavement leave is structured. As Dr. Aleesia Johnson stated, “I’m grateful for the partnership of our partners in AFSCME Local 661. Our district can only function through the incredible and dedicated work of our classified staff members, and I believe the terms of this agreement reflect the value of the relationship we have between the Board and Local 661. You are appreciated.” This comes on the heels of the Indianapolis Public Schools achieving record graduation rates for the class of 2025. As Dr. Johnson again stated, “This milestone is a testament to the hard work and resilience of our students, families, staff, and the entire IPS community.” Here’s looking forward to a mutually beneficial partnership for years to come.
