What a wonderful community service for helping pet owners.

Animals have a special place in Chelsea Fargo’s heart. She became a dog groomer in 2011 and even spent some time working as an animal control officer. The eastsider cares for four dogs, three cats and a bird of her own.

About two years ago, Fargo noticed an increase in social media posts from Indianapolis residents looking for pet food assistance. To help meet the need, she installed a free pet food pantry outside her home.

Now, Fargo and fellow eastside groomer Bethany English have grown that first box into a nonprofit called Eastside Pawject, with six food boxes located on the east side and one on the west side. Each week, they distribute about 300 pounds of pet food through the boxes. The nonprofit also offers $5 microchips for pets.

“Making that affordable and accessible is hopefully getting more pets home if they get lost,” Bailey said. “That’s one of our big things, just keeping pets home and safe.”

You can meet Tarina at the Stable pet food pantry on the second Saturday of each month. She volunteers her time to clip nails, express a**l glands, and clean ears for all your pups and kitties.

If you know Tarina, you love her.

She's never one to seek the spotlight, but a shining moment is more than deserved right now. ⭐

Tarina is one of our Physical Rehabilitation RVTs who recently completed her CCRVT (Certified Canine Rehabilitation Veterinary Technician) training through the Canine Rehabilitation Institute. This is an advanced and specialized credential in the field, and we have witnessed, first hand, how much time and effort she put into this achievement.

Passionate about canine fitness, she continues to thrive in and out of our hospital, while volunteering her time to pets in order to ensure a longer and better quality of life.

Tarina, we are SO proud of you! Please join us in congratulating her on this well-deserved career milestone. 💜
