ICEMARC: First in space, as we continue an amazing satellite program... working on experiments to ship into space next year on CubeSat, a cube satellite moving at 80,000 miles an hour at around 500 miles high and a polar orbit.

But NOW, THERE'S MORE! Through St. Francis University, we have been asked to participate with their helium balloon projects. They're asking us to help them do VHF communication at the greatest distance possible across the globe, and work on other projects to send up to 80,000 feet like meshtastic. APRS, GPS, video and VHF. We're beginning the project in earnest now.

🚀 Big opportunities are taking off at Saint Francis University!

NASA has awarded SFU nearly $400,000 to launch the new Rural Institute for Space Science and Engineering Collaboration (RISE-C) in partnership with NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center.

Through this two-year initiative, SFU undergraduate students will work alongside NASA scientists and engineers, conduct real space science research, design experiments, work with spacecraft technology, and gain hands-on experience preparing them for graduate study and careers in the aerospace industry. 🌎🛰️

From rural Pennsylvania to the frontiers of space, SFU students are proving that big discoveries can begin right here in Loretto.

SFU is collaborating with ICEMARC in this endeavor. A few of us were able to meet with him on his visit with us on Thursday, September 10 at the Emergency Management Agency (EMA).
