The mission of Alice Paul House is to educate, advocate and empower all victims/survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, other crimes and juvenile offenders.

24-HOUR SERVICES
A certified trauma-informed advocate is available to provide support and guidance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, to include weekends and holidays. APH advocates utilize safety planning measures when working with victims/survivors, their children, and significant others. This includes steps and options for increasing safety and preparing for future victimization. Advocates use a trauma-informed approach, with its foundation on the basis of the sanctuary model, "do no harm." This involves active listening, empathy, and acknowledgment of the victim/survivor's reality as they are experiencing it. Advocates are professionally trained and certified in trauma-informed techniques providing assistance to trauma survivors and their significant others. A person who has been victimized often struggles with relationship difficulties, feelings of guilt, grief and loss, and flashbacks. Our confidential services can assist you in processing these feelings. EDUCATION ADVOCACY

All of us want healthy relationships and strong communities. When communities face challenges like lack of access to healthcare, childcare, and safe, affordable housing, it can be much harder to root out and stop domestic violence. To help prevent domestic violence, it's important that we work together to ensure that all families can get the basics like a safe and affordable place to live and a job with a living wage.
