It's a really sad day. I hate to be the one to break then news to all of you, but I have no choice.

The Bat Cave will be closed this coming Tuesday, May 5th, 2026.

I am still fighting this cold/virus and just don't think I will be up to opening the Cave.
I should be back in full swing by the followng Tuesday the 12th of May.

Enjoy this spring break.

It's official...The Bat Cave will be closed on Tuesday the 28th of April, 2026.

OK, you may now resume your normal activities.

April is Child Abuse Awareness month.

In 2025,The Idaho Children's Advocacy Center served 3,639 children who experienced abuse or neglect, with 68% of those children being girls.

Of the cases served, 70% involved allegations of sexual abuse, highlighting the critical need for prevention education, early intervention, and community awareness.

If you see something, say something.

The VL Batman Project is honored to be working with the Idaho Network of Children's Advocacy Center to help some of these children.

I want to thank all of our supporters and volunteers that make it possible for this project to reach out and help these children.

I also want to thank God for his many blessings of this project.

The sign up for the quilt class at the Bat Cave is now closed

Last Chance...well sort of...The quilt class being offered at the Bat Cave on Tuesday February 3rd will be here before you know it.

PLEASE, if you plan on attending we need to hear from you so we can be ready to impress you with the magic that happens at the Bat Cave.

OK so I may have exaggerated a little. We actually just need to know who is coming so we can have everything set up and ready for the class. And, we need a head count so we have an idea of just how many pizzas to order.

Good morning and Happy New Year to EVERYONE.

Oh Boy!
We are off and running at the Bat Cave.
Are you ready to get started?

First we are taking the month of January just to catch our breath and get back into the swing of things. So come on down and see us on Tuesdays, just like always. Just hang out with us for a while. There is always something that can be done, or just visit and reconnect with each other.

That brings us to February... Some changes have been made.

In the past we celebrated February with a theme...Baby It's Cold Outside and we focused on making baby size quilts/blankets.

Our new theme for the month of February is OH BOY!!! Boy Oh Boy.....
The expression "Oh boy" or "boy oh boy" is an informal exclamation used to convey surprise, excitement, or emphasis about a situation.

It's kind of like that at the Bat Cave most of the time. Always a surprise, plenty of excitement, and of course emphasis about a situation. Such as a Color Consult to determine what fabric to use for a border, binding, etc.

So, with all that nonsense being said, the focus in February will be on making quilts for boys. Quilts for boys, especially for older boys is still a high priority for the agencies that we serve.

Oh Boy, lets get started.

The Bat Cave will be hosting a quilt class on February 3rd at 10:00. Lunch is included, or at least part of it. We will be getting some pizza, but if you are compelled as to bring something to share then that is just fine with us.

If you plan on coming to the class please let us know so we have an idea about how many pizzas to get. You can respond to this post, or you can send an e-mail to [email protected]...or send me a text to 208 566 1556 to let me know you plan on coming.

This is open to EVERBODY...you do not need to be a current volunteer to take advantage of this class. Actually, we would love to see new faces. We have all the supplies you will need so just bring yourself, bring a friend, a neighbor, co worker...you get the idea.
The Bat Cave opens at 9 AM, Class will start at 10 AM, and for those who don't know where we are the address is 803 Indian Valley Rd, which is conveniently located in Indian Valley, Idaho.

Oh Boy, I hope to see you there.

Plans...something about the saying... best laid plans of mice and men.....
Well here's the thing..I panned to have the Bat Cave open on this coming Tuesday....HOWEVER that's not NOT going to happen.

We seem to be having an issue with our well or pressure tank not working properly, therefore we do NOT have water. We do have someone coming to take a look on Monday so hopefully we will be open next Tuesday.

OK, lets get started....This is to let everyone know that the Bat Cave will be closed this coming Tuesday the 21st of October.

We will be open again on the 30th of September...9 to 4 as always.
