Today, we had the privilege of traveling to Greensboro, North Carolina, to serve as the official community activation for the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., North Carolina State Leadership Conference.
Together with their leadership and sorors from across the state, we rolled up our sleeves to assemble 300 First Responder Kits4Kids.
When a child faces an emergency, accident, or traumatic displacement, the world around them can feel overwhelming and terrifying in seconds. These specialized kits are designed to give first responders an immediate, comforting bridge of trust—packed with soothing sensory activities and tools that help de-escalate anxiety and give a frightened child a safe, calming anchor in the middle of a crisis.
From the early-morning energy of setting up alongside the dedicated Zeta volunteers to the quiet, moving moment when our local first responders asked to close out the day gathered in prayer, the spirit in the room was palpable. It truly reflected the village stepping forward. Seeing state community leaders, Greek life, and emergency personnel working shoulder-to-shoulder reminded us why this mission matters so deeply: when it comes to our children's emotional safety and well-being, we are always stronger together.
