Pak Charlotte

Parents of Allergic Kids is a network of families in the Charlotte area with children (from babies to young adults) with food, venom, and latex allergies.

Formed in April 2006 by parents that have children with various allergies. Our members include parents of children (from babies to young adults) with life-threatening food, latex and venom allergies. PAK has grown to over 1700 families in Charlotte, North Carolina and the surrounding area. This growth led PAK to become an official 501(c)(3) in 2016.We have a variety of meetings, guest speakers, sp

ecial events such as family yoga workshops, and seasonal food free children’s events. Our educational meetings cover topics such as research updates, asthma, epinephrine training. We also host parent get togethers, advocacy projects, i.e. working with local school boards to create anaphylaxis and allergy protocols, nurses in schools, epinephrine legislation, and community education. 🙏Our hearts are broken for everyone affected by the California fires, it has been devastating to say the least. Naturally, our thoughts immediately went to the food allergy community and our concern for their ability to find safe food and other supplies. We are so thankful for the Garry Marshall Theatre for dedicating space for food allergy-friendly products we’ve been able to secure and the brands for their generosity and quick call to action.

Hi PAK Family! We know this is a busy time of year but we wanted to give an update on our Giving Tuesday donation drive. As of today we have raised $30. At this time last year we had raised $2800. We are able to pay our bills this year, insurance, website, post office box, etc but, next year will be rough unless we raise around $3000. Our hearts go out to all those impacted by Hurricane Helene. Natural disasters like hurricanes can disrupt medicine and food deliveries. This makes access to allergy-friendly foods essential in times of emergency.

FOODiversity and PAKCharlotte are collecting donations of allergy-friendly foods for people in need. They have created Amazon Wishlists to collect these donations.

As Hurricane Milton makes landfall in Florida this week, Florida residents will also need support. Stay tuned for relief efforts and ways you can help.
