The Ralph Gonza Wade American Legion Post 170 was originally approved for a charter on January 28, 1946. Navy Chief who had served his country for twenty years. He was elected as Commander of Post 170, a position he held from 1951 to 1955. In 1961, just one year after Furey's passing, Post 170 was re-chartered under the name Randolph Furey Post 170. Randolph Furey Post 170 has a membership roster

of more than 200 members. Randolph Furey Post 170's Auxiliary Unit has a membership roster of 40 plus members. Randolph Furey Post 170 also has a Legion Riders component.
