🙏 Thank You, St. Michael Parish! 🙏

The Knights of Columbus would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the parishioners of St. Michael Parish for your extraordinary generosity in support of Zelie’s Home’s Mother’s Day Fundraiser. Thanks to your kindness and compassion, we raised $14,620 to support mothers and families in need—a remarkable 43% increase over last year’s total!

On June 4, Erin Hathaway, Executive Director of Zelie’s Home, graciously accepted the donation on behalf of the organization. Your support will make a meaningful difference in the lives of mothers and children throughout our community.

We also offer our sincere gratitude to Fr. Jordan, Fr. Haren, and the parish staff for their encouragement and support of this effort. Together, we are helping build a culture that supports and uplifts mothers, children, and families in need.

Interested in making a difference in our parish and community? The Knights of Columbus welcomes Catholic men who are looking to grow in their faith, serve others, and build lasting friendships with fellow Catholic gentlemen. The Knights of Columbus and our families are honored to support and participate in the St. Michael’s 2026 Retreat Days this Lenten season!

Nearly 30 men gathered on March 14 and 40 women on March 28, each experiencing a beautiful day filled with prayer, community, great food, and feeling the power of the Holy Spirit moving! It was truly inspiring to witness so many come together in faith.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make these retreat days possible, especially Dcn. Vince Belsito, St. Michael’s Parish, and all of the participants who made each day so special.

Council 3970 was honored to host the District Free Throw Championship this past weekend, welcoming boys and girls ages 9–13 from across the area for the next level of the Knights of Columbus Free Throw Competition.

It was inspiring to see so many young athletes showcase their skills, sportsmanship, and confidence while competing in a fun and supportive environment. Events like this remind us how important it is to encourage our youth through faith, family, and friendly competition.

We extend a sincere thank you to all the participants, parents, volunteers, and supporters who helped make the day such a success. Your enthusiasm and encouragement created a great experience for everyone involved.

Congratulations to all of our competitors, and best of luck to those advancing to the next round!

On January 25, our Knights of Columbus Council was blessed to host over 100 men at the Independence Civic Center for our 2026 Men’s Breakfast. It was a powerful morning of fraternity, prayer, and great food but most importantly, a chance to grow together as men of faith.

We were honored to welcome keynote speaker Fr. Nathan Cromly who shared insights from his new book, Coached by Paul the Apostle. Drawing from the life of St. Paul, Fr. Nathan reminded us that God works not only through our strengths, but powerfully through our weaknesses.

St. Paul’s persecution of Christians before his conversion could have paralyzed him with guilt and fear. Instead, through humility and an inner spiritual victory, he allowed Christ to transform his weakness into mission. The same is true for us. The chief battle is within: choosing humility, refusing to let our imperfections block the love Jesus has for us, and daring great things for Christ anyway.

In our weakness can be found a conscience-formed strength. Through Christ, our past does not define our future.

Thank you to all the men who joined us. We look forward to continuing to build strong Catholic brotherhood in our community.
