The Wall That Heals is now on the move from the east coast to the west coast to prepare for our visit to Oahu in January. A HUGE thank you to our driver, Matt Herriges of American Big Iron Carriers, LLC, for saving the day and jumping in last minute to get us where we need to be! Matt has been there for us again and again over the last 10 years when we've needed a driver and we couldn't do it without the generosity of drivers like him!

Today marks the 84th anniversary of a pivotal moment in our nation's history. On December 7, 1941, the Empire of Japan executed an assault on the U.S. Navy base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and its adjacent installations in an attack that President Franklin Roosevelt would later describe as "a day that will live in infamy."

The assault by Imperial Japanese Zeros was devastating, sinking all eight battleships of the U.S. Navy's Pacific Fleet and claiming the lives of 2,403 American service members. On this day, we honor each and every one who made the ultimate sacrifice. Also, we remember with pride that six of those eight battleships were ultimately raised and valiantly returned to the fight, helping the United States and our allies toward eventual and decisive victory in World War II.

As we reflect on this solemn occasion, we reaffirm our commitment to never forget the sacrifice of those who gave their lives. Let us honor the memory of the fallen and pay tribute to the resilience of the service members who, in the aftermath of Pearl Harbor, embarked on a mission to defend democracy and safeguard nations around the world.
