Friends United Inc. Friends United is an organization dedicated to supporting the teachers and students in Honduras. Want to help?

Friends United strives to support the teachers and students of Honduras by providing training opportunities and access to resources and materials. We are always in need of monetary donations for our many projects such as building/equipping resource centers, buying basic school supplies, buying books in Spanish, etc. To send a monetary donation, mail your check made out to "Friends United" to the following address:

Motivating learning by use of gaining points to use at Tiendita del Amor is a strategy shared by Amigos Unidos. Kimberly Molina, the teacher and our office manager in Tela, chose to use this motivation strategy with an Environmental study theme. It is also used in Reading and with improving behavior. With Project-based learning, her fifth grade at Alma Rodas de Fiallos Educational Center in the community of Morején, completed their projects on protecting their environment and working on recycling projects. Well done, Kimberly, and fifth grade class!

A Kansas City nonprofit has spent decades working to bridge the education gap in Honduras — bringing thousands of books to classrooms that once had none and welcoming Honduran teachers to the Kansas City area to learn from local educators.
