Friends United strives to support the teachers and students of Honduras by providing training opportunities and access to resources and materials. We are always in need of monetary donations for our many projects such as building/equipping resource centers, buying basic school supplies, buying books in Spanish, etc. To send a monetary donation, mail your check made out to "Friends United" to the f

Our newly reopened Friends United office in Orica, F.M., received support and approval from the Dept. of Education in Orica to hold an Olympics for children of the community. Our office manager/trainer, Danelia Salazar, presented her ideas and plan for this with school leaders. More info to come soon! Thank you, Danelia!

Una vez más el Centro de Recursos Pedagógicos de Amigos Unidos que funciona en Orica F.M. En alianza con la Dirección Municipal de Educación,capacita a docentes de 9 centros educativos de Básica con el propósito de realizar la primera olimpiada de Atletismo para Niños en este municipio,es un proceso de sacrificio para docentes pero de mucho aprendizaje para la niñez.
Agradecemos infinitamente al Director Municipal Oscar Cruz y su equipo, a Docentes ,personal administrativo de la escuela 15 de Septiembre y docentes participantes por estar tan comprometidos con las innovaciones en el proceso educativo de este término municipal al concluir las jornadas de trabajo nos sentiremos orgullosos de nuestros aportes y veremos en los niños caras radiantes de felicidad por sus primeros pasos en el atletismo!!!!

We are so proud of the work Elena Perez is doing to get our new office opened in San Pedro Sula. The office has come a long way from when it was just an idea discussed with the Department of Education authorities of San Pedro Sula back in April. Elena has already been representing Friends United in different ways, but especially at a conference this week of those organizations who work to better education in Honduras Bravo, Elena! So excited to see you and the office in July!

Para nuestros amigos en Honduras, quiero compartir esta mensaje desde la hija de Carlota! Carlota está en hospital, pero está mejorando ahora. Ella tiene 90 años pero es una mujer con mucha determinación de pelear para buena salud. Por favor, diga a otras que ella necesita muchas oraciones de todos de sus amigos en Honduras. Gracias! 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Final update to this post. Mom is now in room 1081at NKC Hospital (Pavillion side)...On the road to recovery!

UPDATE 1/13/26
It has been an emotional journey, but we are happy to say mom is doing really well this morning! We really thought we were going to lose her Sunday night, but mom is doing her best to heal and overcome this. It is a lot on a 90 year old lady, but she is a trooper. She is still in the ICU at NKC Hospital, but there is a chance she will be moved out soon. Dad is doing good through this, but it is wearing him out. We are making him stay home and rest today. Thank you to everyone who has reached out with support. It is appreciated.

UPDATE ON MOM.. Charlotte Reece Ruoff . She is out of surgery. It was a long surgery. She had multiple clots in both legs. There was a risk she could lose a leg but prayers were answered! Thank you to everyone that reached out and/or prayed. It was and still is appreciated. She is now in the ICU for close monitoring.
