The crews are looking pretty in pink this October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month! 💗

The pink shirts represent our solidarity with survivors, honor those we’ve lost, and show support for the families affected by breast cancer. Early detection saves lives—talk with your doctor about scheduling your yearly mammogram, or visit the Oregon Health Authority website to learn more about cancer screenings.

Congratulations to our 4196 members who were recently promoted to Engineer! Additionally, some members of the C-Shift crew were recognized for their excellent performance and care during a recent CPR call. Our hearts are broken in the wake of the horrific events in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. John Morrison and Frank Hardwood were shot and killed while attempting to extinguish a wildfire set by the shooter. Dave Tsydal remains in critical condition.

We are sending our love and support to their families, community, and coworkers.

Rest easy and recover well, Brothers.

(From left to right) Last week, Doug Stewart, Scott Johnson, and Skyler Li were formally sworn in as Professional Firefighter/EMTs at the December District Board meeting, with Chief Stange presiding over the ceremony. The addition of new firefighters to our department was facilitated by the exceptional support of our community, which endorsed Measure 27-141 in May 2023.
