🧡 Rotary Clubs across District 6040 are joining the Wear Orange for National Gun Violence Awareness Weekend (June 5–7) to promote gun safety and honor those impacted by gun violence with a rally being held on Saturday, June 6 at 9:00am at Alvin Brooks Justice Center.

Rotarians throughout northern Missouri will wear orange, light homes and businesses orange, and share resources about safe firearm storage. Through the district’s Rotarians for Gun Safety initiative, clubs are partnering with Grandparents for Gun Safety to distribute gun locks and educate families on preventing accidents and saving lives.

Together, we can raise awareness, encourage responsible firearm storage, and help create safer communities for everyone. 🧡

Approximately 70,000 people in Haiti will have improved access to safe water and sanitation by 2030, with a goal of reducing waterborne disease by 25% 💧

Through the Haiti National Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Initiative (Hanwash), Rotary is partnering with Haiti Outreach, DINEPA, local nonprofits, and community leaders to make it happen.

District 6040 has been working diligently on a Rotary Friendship Exchange with Argentinian World Cup visitors to Kansas City. Friendship Exchange Chair Ben Martin, of the Rotary Club of Lee's Summit, gets some good Rotary International publicity in this article:
