Thomas G. Burns, 72, died on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at home in Santa Fe, NM, surrounded by family and friends. Tom was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on September 15, 1953, to Joe and Virginia Burns. He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Forrest Reed.

While still in Kansas City, Tom proudly served as president of Glory House Services, a nonprofit serving rural communities in northwest Haiti and traveled there to deliver food and supplies and pay salaries of local school teachers. Tom had a passion for learning and knowledge, often leading him down rabbit holes of obscure and fascinating information. He also enjoyed conducting orientation for international students at the beginning of each semester at UMKC. Ne choisis pas seulement avec le cœur, choisis aussi avec la sagesse.

Le mariage est trop important pour être fondé uniquement sur l’attirance, les émotions ou la pression familiale. Choisir un conjoint, c’est choisir une personne avec laquelle tu vas construire une partie majeure de ton avenir.

1. CHOISIS SELON LES VALEURS

Regarde ce que la personne considère comme important : fidélité, respect, responsabilité, vérité, famille et foi.

2. CHOISIS SELON LE CARACTÈRE

Le physique peut attirer, mais le caractère soutient le mariage. Observe la personne lorsqu’elle est frustrée, contrariée ou sous pression.

3. CHOISIS QUELQU’UN QUI SAIT COMMUNIQUER

Un foyer sans communication devient rapidement un foyer rempli de suppositions, de blessures et de silences.
