Here at Santa Fe Trail PTA our Parents, Families and Teachers work together throughout the year to extend the PTA’s mission of “making every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children”. While enriching the Independence School District’s vision of “a community united to improve the quality of life through education” and its mission t

o “provide a quality education, we will ensure that each learner will achieve the skills and self-confidence to be successful in an ever-changing world.”

The SFTPTA works to accomplish these goals by organizing events, activities and fundraisers that help for our students, teachers and school. Our school year kicks off with our annual Walk-A-Thon, our largest fundraisers of the year; the community gets involved donating snacks prizes and time. Funds raised from this and other events go toward many things throughout the school year such as; field trips (transportation and entrance fees), library books (updates and replacements), equipment replacement and improvement (playground and classroom), family night events as well as teacher and staff appreciation events. PTA Family Memberships are just $10 and are open for purchase to more than just student’s parents. School spirit wear; T-shirts, pullovers etc., are made available for purchase through the PTA via the great work of Sonshine Sports Apparel.
