Every time you drive with the Drive Hope plate, you remind someone facing breast cancer that they are not alone, and you remind others how important regular screening is. $25 from every plate goes to help patients get quality treatment and provides emergency financial assistance and support with the day-to-day challenges of living with breast cancer.

Today is National Mammography Day, a good reminder to check when your last screening was.

Early detection matters, and regular screening is one of the most important things we can do for our health. If you're due, please make the appointment. And if someone you love is due, a gentle reminder today could make all the difference. 💗

Because of you, a single mom in breast cancer treatment could keep the lights on for herself and her 9-year-old daughter.

She kept working after her diagnosis, but chemo has made her sick often, and the missed days added up fast. With help from the Breast Cancer Fund of Ohio and our partners at Miami Valley Hospital Foundation, her utilities were covered so she could focus on getting well and taking care of her little girl.

Meet Jenna, one of our dedicated board members.

Jenna was diagnosed with breast cancer when she was 30 and carries a BRCA2 genetic mutation. Breast cancer has unfortunately affected the lives of many of her family members, and she joined BCFO to make sure those faced with this disease have the support they need. She also wants to make sure young adult survivors are well represented.

Jenna wishes more people knew that BCFO is funded by Ohioans, and grant funds stay here in Ohio to support our friends, family and neighbors.

When we asked who has had the biggest influence on her life, she told us it's her daughter, Mia, and all of the women in her family.

Jenna is celebrating one year on our board this September. Thank you, Jenna, for bringing your voice and your story to BCFO!

We have some very special news to share this Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 💗

BCFO has received a $194,354 gift from the estate of an anonymous donor. It is the largest estate gift in our history.

This gift will help us nearly double the number of grants we provide in the coming year. That means more Ohioans in breast cancer treatment getting help with the everyday costs that pile up, like rent, utilities, groceries, gas to appointments, childcare and co-pays.

To the donor who made this possible, thank you. Your generosity will reach so many people when they need it most.

This Saturday, October 10, the Ladies of Kindred Breed are hosting their 3rd Annual Breast Cancer Benefit at Rookies in Parma Heights, and we would love to see you there. 💗

Join them at 5, dinner is at 6, and drawings start at 8. Tickets are $20, and there will be a $1,000 Cash Wreath, raffle baskets and a 50/50.

The Ladies of Kindred Breed are a group of women committed to supporting other women who are fighting breast cancer, and this benefit supports the Breast Cancer Fund of Ohio. Thank you, ladies, for everything you do.
