That’s right, guide dog teams around the globe are celebrating, and GDUI is reminding all of our members, human and canine, to make a point of celebrating! After all, International Guide Dog day is a BFD, you know!!! (That’s right, A BFD- a big furry deal!)

Take an extra walk!

Remember those frozen doggie treats in the freezer!

So are treats!

And snuggles!

Let’s each celebrate all the safe travel, companionship, and love we experience with our guide dogs.

Announcement From Georgia Guide Dog Users:
GGDU, an affiliate of Guide Dog Users Inc., has established an emergency veterinary care fund for guide dog handlers facing extraordinary medical expenses for their working guide dogs. This fund is available to Georgia residents and can provide limited financial assistance for emergency expenses. Contact Marj Schneider, to ask for the fund's guidelines and application.

Both Uber and Lyft have added optional self-identification features through which riders can identify that they ride with a service animal, and the driver is notified of same when the driver arrives. In Uber, this is available from the Account tab > Settings > Accessibility > Service Animal.
