IVEDC welcomed an international group, partners and stakeholders to the SDSU Imperial Valley STEM Building as part of a strategic collaboration with Team California and SelectUSA.
SelectUSA, a program led by the U.S. Department of Commerce, promotes job creating business investment across the United States while highlighting the vital role of economic development in strengthening the national economy.
Through this initiative, Team California invited global investors to explore Southern California’s diverse economic landscape beyond its major metropolitan hubs. The curated “Spinoff” program spotlighted three high-potential regions Imperial County, Riverside County, and San Bernardino County. Each hosting tailored receptions, presentations, and guided tours featuring local leadership and investment opportunities.
During Imperial County’s program, IVEDC convened regional leaders for an evening of presentations, offering international guests’ direct insight into the area’s economic strengths and growth potential within SDSU-Imperial Valley’s state-of-the-art STEM Campus.
The following day, the delegation embarked on a comprehensive tour of Imperial County, beginning at the Mexican border in Calexico. The tour showcased key development sites and active projects throughout the region, concluding with a presentation at Hudson Ranch Power in Calipatria.
