If you've been interested in checking out Fetch tests, please come join us at the Steel Valley Cluster (Canfield dog show) August 1st and 2nd for Novice and Intermediate both days! With our tests running concurrently with 2 judges present at the field, you can finish both a Novice and Intermediate title over the weekend.
Our field will be on the right of the entrance road after you pay for parking, so you can't miss it! Pre-entries will be accepted (see the AKC website for info), and day of entries will be accepted until the entry limit is reached.

Fencing is up for the Fetch test to be held at the Memorial Day Cluster in New Castle PA. "Try its" will be held 1-3pm on Thursday and Friday with Novice and Intermediate levels only to be offered Saturday and Sunday. Advanced and Retriever levels only will be offered in back to back tests on Monday. Day of entries will be accepted. Go to www.gplrc.com to fetch a premium and get more info.

Labrador Friends! Don't forget that the Memorial Classic Cluster closes almost a MONTH before the show- April 29! Get your entries in ASAP for our 3 Supported Entry days and 2 Specialty days on May 23-24. Don't forget the double all-breed show on Tuesday May 19! Labradors will show in our building at the front of the grounds Thursday-Monday, along with having Fetch Try-Its and testing at the building.
We are always happy to accept any donations for our Raffle anytime before the raffle closes, so if you have a fugly leash or crazy toy that your dog will never play with, feel free to bring it and donate it!

Don't forget our back-to-back Specialties at the 6 day Memorial Classic Cluster, taking place May 19-25 at the Lawrence County Farm Grounds in New Castle PA. Including a double show on Tuesday May 19! GPLRC will also have Supported Entry on Thursday, Friday and Monday.
Don't forget to add some letters to the end of your dog's name by participating in our Fetch test, taking place adjacent to our show building at the front of the grounds

The premiums are up on the AKC site for our upcoming Fetch Tests to be held in conjunction with our Memorial Day Specialty in New Castle. You can also get a copy of the premium from the club website at www.gplrc.com. We will also have "try its" on Thursday and Friday. Should be a fun action packed week. Hope to see you there!

Come join the Greater Pittsburgh Labrador Retriever Club at our back-to-back Specialties, in conjuction with the Memorial Classic Cluster May 19-25 in New Castle, PA (7 shows including a double show on Tuesday May 19). Breeder judges Michelle VeuCasovic and Charles Olvis, and Sweeps judges Dave Hodge (Davris) and Dr. Kyle Hartman (Brookeridge). Beautiful hand crafted awards, a huge raffle, and don't forget to participate in our Fetch trials. Try its for Fetch on Thursday and Friday, with Trials Saturday-Monday. You can finish multiple titles in one weekend!
All showing the entire week for Labradors will be in our personal building right at the front of the show grounds, with plenty of crate space and a small kitchen available to store items in a fridge and fresh running water.

Labrador friends! Many of you know I work for a nonprofit organization that serves victims of domestic violence in the Pittsburgh area. Did you know that October is DV Awareness month?
The PAWS for Empowerment program at Crisis Center North serves clients in Allegheny County by providing our Canine Advocates for emotional support in court and therapy sessions, as well as a plethora of services to assist them and their pets to escape their violent situations. We help people and their pets find emergency and permanent pet friendly housing, provide gift cards to pet stores, and assist with veterinary bills.
Each year, we host our PAWS for Empowerment walk which takes place in North Park. This year, its October 26 at the Harmar Pavilion just behind Pie Traynor field. We are looking for businesses or organizations that may want to provide sponsorship or put up a free informational table at the event, as well as walkers (with or without your dog) to sign up. Its a fun day of K9 demonstrations, dog art and games (with prizes!) and a delicious food truck parked on site. ALL PROCEEDS go to the PAWS for Empowerment program to ensure we can continue serving our clients.
Last year, we served 189 clients and provided over 1300 services, just with our Canines in person. We can't do it without your help! If you know of a business or organization that would like to be represented at the walk (sponsorship, set up a table, or provide a freebie for our Swag Bags) please let me know. Below is the link for people to sign up to attend the event- if you would like the file so you can print it out and hang it up in places you frequent, I can send it over via email.
