Sol Reyes is the son of our coworker, Lupita. Over the years, Sol has spent many hours volunteering with Cultivate Abundance. His love for and dedication to his community are inspiring and a reflection of that same love and devotion Lupita has for the Immokalee community. If you know Lupita, you know she is a powerful force for good. It is no wonder her son would share those qualities!

A teenager from Immokalee will travel to Rome soon to take part in a global initiative for peace. About 40 young people from some of the most troubled places on earth will collaborate on ways to bring peace to their home communities.

We installed the last bike light yesterday. Each week, more people come asking for them. When a bicycle is your only way to get to work, the store, or home after a long day, having a light at night is not optional. It is safety.

If you’re able, please consider sharing the link in the first comment so more lights can be installed on bikes for those who need them. This is also something a Sunday School class or small group could take on together.

Thank you for helping keep neighbors safe.

Despite our deep familiarity with the subject, we sometimes struggle to describe exactly what Cultivate Abundance is doing. However, this article, written by Alexandra Martinez with compelling photos captured by Lisette Morales, accomplishes what we’ve often attempted to communicate. This story was made possible by Leadership Education at Duke Divinity School, which has recognized Cultivate Abundance in its 2025 Traditioned Innovation Awards.

A ministry in southwest Florida grows and gives away food to the people who harvest the nation’s crops but have little access to fresh food themselves.
