Yaya Humanitarian Foundation The Yaya Humanitarian Foundation INC, a 501 (c)(3) registered Non-profit organization with volunteers from all over the United States and Haiti.

We are inspired by the legacy of our late mother Merzilia Herard aka Yaya who volunteered her time and ressources to help the less fortunate people in the community of Jean-Rabel. Founded by her eldest son Peter Herard and his sibblings, the foundation intends to keep Merzilia’s memory alive through humanitarian work in the community.

As you know, a massive 7.2 magnitude earthquake totally leveled southern Haiti on August 14th. Over 3,000 people lost their lives, several thousand are injured and over 600,000 are left homeless.
As we present our sympathies to the victims and their families, we also want to do more.
At The Yaya Humanitarian Foundation, we want to help as much as we can to the reconstruction of homes. We are partnering with the Man Dodo Humanitarian Foundation www.mandodo.org which has been serving the regions affected for over 15 years. Their strategic partner is the Southern Baptist Mission of Southern Haiti, the largest organization with over 300 churches and schools, universities, hospitals and radio and television networks.
