Important information for volunteers📣
We've been getting a lot of questions from volunteers about what to wear to their food-packing shift. We are heating the cooler and anticipate it will be between 60-70 degrees inside (depending on the temperature outside). We recommend wearing clean, comfortable shoes and your usual outer layers for the very short walk from the parking lot to the cooler, and layering a sweatshirt over your clothes to wear for packing. You can always take a layer off if needed.
Other important info:
- Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your packing session to check in.
- No food or beverages are allowed in the packing room.
- Volunteers will be required to wear a provided hairnet (those with longer hair, it may be a good idea to wear your hair up or bring a hair-tie with you).
- No jewelry allowed (besides emergency medical bracelets). This includes necklaces, bracelets, watches, earrings, rings, etc. If a volunteer cannot remove a ring, they must wear provided gloves. Earrings and necklaces cannot just be tucked inside the hairnet or clothing, they must be removed.
- Purses and bags can be brought into the packing room and placed underneath each packing station.
