In the photo, Tyler Peterson is discussing the plans with Santa himself on the Frankfort Fire Department sleigh. Both the Ilion and Frankfort Fire Departments will

Santa has just informed us that due to daylight savings time being observed in most of the lower 48 states in the United States, he will be making his visit to Ilion on Sunday, December 11th at 5:30 PM. His plans are to oversee the lighting of the Official Village Tree and then go inside where he has some special gifts he has already delivered for the children. He also wants to ask everyone attending, to please bring at least one non-perishable food item to be given to his friends at the Ilion Food Pantry. He hopes to see you all Sunday night at 5:30.

As 2013 came to a close, and we were all able to look back at this past years events, we all got together for one last time in 2013 at the John Guy Prindle Apartments on East North Street in Ilion....... Music was provided by John Seymour & Dave Lamica...... Party-goers were treated to all sorts of goodies provided by the residents and staff at Prindle Apartments.... And at the stroke of mid-night we lit the ball welcoming in 2014...... Thanks to all that attended and to all of you that helped make this night special.... We even had one young lady say "I will marry you".... And we offer our sincerest Congratulations and we wish you well........

This year we were fortunate to receive a very nice donation from The Verizon Pioneers to assist us in purchasing bikes for 11 lucky children that registered at the tree lighting and during their visit with Santa & Mrs Claus at The Annunciation Paris Center. The kids were also accompanied and assisted with their selections by uniformed members of the Ilion Police Department. The officers also made the children's night more special as the Ilion Police Department's PBA purchased bike helmets to keep them safe and locks to protect their new bikes. A special thank you to the lone Walmart employee that tried his best to help the children and their families..... Without your assistance, we still would have been there..... Events like this show what extraordinary people we have in the Mohawk Valley. The Christmas in Ilion Committee is very fortunate to be teamed up with the kind employees and retiree-e's from VERIZON, The Ilion Police and Fire Departments, Santa & Mrs Claus, Glen Golden Photography and the lone young man from Walmart that was so kind to help us out...............
