The Central Valley CSD Foundation was established in 1994 as the Ilion Central School District foundation. In 2013, the Ilion School District changed its name to Central Valley Central School District and the Foundation changed its name as well. The Foundation’s goal is to enhance the educational opportunities for all the students of the Central Valley CSD. The Foundation is comprised of up to 15 volunteers from the community. The main focus of the Foundation is to raise money for the benefit of the students and teachers in the district.

Once again the CVA Foundation is holding their annual Turkey Trot 5K, 2 mile walk & several kids runs, along with our annual food drive for Feed Our Vets.
We have a HEFTY goal this year and are asking for the support of our wonderful and always supportive community. Feed Our Vets are bringing down their 26 foot box truck the morning of our run (November 14th). LETS SHOW THEM WHAT WE CAN DO!! You don’t have to be signed up for the run to drop off food the morning of the 14th. Just show up down to the Wetlands Park in Mohawk (under the pavilion 146 W Main Street). Please drop off by 8:30am.
This year we have placed boxes in multiple businesses throughout the valley. You might have already seen them, whether you are picking up food at Franco's Pizza Ilion, SHOOK. Salads & Açaí, or GiGi’s Italian Feast or doing your banking at AmeriCU Credit Union in Herkimer or *****on FCU or just enjoying your friends at your local Legion, Marine Corp, Elks or Polish Club (The New Crowley-Barnum Post 25 American Legion Page, Little Falls American Legion Post 31, Herkimer Elks Lodge, Falls Polish Club, MCL- Marine Corp league of Herkimer County, Frankfort American Legion). “Jake from State Farm” is even encouraging you to donate a non-perishable item ☺️ Scott Grates - State Farm Agent. Don’t go throwing your back out buying the food, BUT if you do, we have you covered: you can bring a non-perishable item to your PT appointment at Kress Physical Therapy PLLC or Core Physical Therapy in Ilion. ☺️ If you fell asleep reading this long post and dropped your phone and broke the screen, head on over to Tailored Computer Care and they will fix your screen. But before you go, don’t forget your non-perishable item for the food box! 😊
I spoke with Rich at Feed Our Vets and this time of the year they are looking for Thanksgiving fixings (boxed mashed potatoes, canned yams, etc). But any non-perishable item is greatly appreciated!
A HUGE THANK YOU to all of the “tagged” businesses that graciously agreed to let me place a box in your business. If anyone would like to make a donation, I can pickup personally or you can drop off at my house.

The CVCSD Foundation is selling Gertrude Hawk candy bars $2.00 each - the flavors are listed but I am already out of the new silk flavor. If you would like any of these bars, let me know and you can also get them at B**r Bliss in Ilion who is selling them for the Foundation. Thank you for your support.

Dear Mr. Rich,

Enclosed please find a donation check from the CVCSD Foundation for $ 2,000.00. This money is being donated so each school building has $500.00 to use toward student recognition during the 2026-2027 school year.

The Foundation members are very happy that we can donate money again this year to honor and recognize students for going above and beyond. I am sending a copy of this letter to each building principal so they know this money is available to them.

Please note that again this year we also want to recognize CVCSD Employees for each marking period. I have included a copy of the application that anyone can use to recognize any employee. Please share this application and information with all employees and the public so we can recognize the great people who work for our school district.

This Race is open to EVERYONE. Central Valley Students can send their application to the Foundation mailbox at the high school - people outside of the Central Valley School district will have to register on-line, mail their application or drop it off in a sealed envelope to the Foundation at the CVA high school in Ilion. Thank you.

Again this year the Foundation is holding a t-shirt design contest. This is open to all Central Valley CSD students in PreK - to 6th grade. Only Students should be making the drawing - no helping parents. The deadline to hand them in to their teacher is October 15th. Designs must be on white paper 8 1/2 x 11" - please follow the instructions provided on this form.

It's another school year, Welcome back!
Please consider nominating a Central Valley School District employee to be recognized by the Central Valley School District Foundation. Those who are honored receive a gift certificate to a local restaurant or store.
The form is attached below, please fill it out and return via email to JoAnn Duga at ([email protected]).
The Foundation will honor employees each quarter.
The Foundation very much appreciates nominations. We generously contribute money to each building in our district for student recognition rewards, attendance and PBIS programming. The Foundation also contributes money for field trips or special projects for each grade level. We also have helped various programs purchase equipment to benefit our students. We also hold and participate in several community events such as BINGO, Trunk or Treat, Brooks BBQ and the Turkey Trot. We are a volunteeer group who works to support our district and community in many ways. Consider supporting us at these events and/or taking the time to recongnize the positive contributions of all employees in our building.

The Panarites Medical Award is available for application to any CVA Alum who fits the below criteria, there will only be one such award given each school year. All below information should be sent to the CVCSD Foundation, 111 Frederick St., Ilion, New York 13357 c/o JoAnn Duga, CVCSD Foundation President

Application deadline is August 1st each school year.

Required to apply for The Panarites Medical Award

Transcripts of high school and undergraduate education.

Letter of acceptance into a certified medical school, or post graduate training for Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant.

500-word essay outlining future goals in chosen field of a Doctor, Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant.

This award will only be given to one person each school year.

Those not chosen and still in college may reapply the following school year.

Deadline - August 1st for all applications each school year.
