greater Ilion community. History: The Ilion Free Public Library Foundation, Ltd. was established in 2012 to enhance and strengthen the services of the Ilion Free Public Library. The Foundation is compromised of up to 15 volunteers from the community. The main focus of the Foundation is to raise money for the benefit of the residents of our community. While most money will be sought through grants, donations and bequests in honor of / in memory of individuals are also accepted and greatly appreciated.

100% of all money raised will benefit the residents of the Ilion community. All monies are under the total control of the Foundation Board and maintained separately from any public funds. The Foundation is fully recognized by the IRS as a 501c(3) not-for-profit organization independent from the library.

For this week’s “Mention us Monday” we hear from local Author / Artist Chic Scaparo, whose book is featured in our library and at our Author’s Corner event.

“My experience with the Ilion Library was wonderful. Having my work displayed there and being able to share it with friends, family, and members of the community meant a lot to me. The staff was incredibly welcoming and supportive, and they made the whole experience feel personal rather than simply hosting an exhibit. As someone with deep ties to this area, seeing people come together to support my work was something I’ll always remember. I'm very grateful to the Ilion Library for giving me that opportunity and for everything they continue to do for our community.
