We had a good Field to Fork meeting tonight at the Mt. Allison Grange Hall. Andrew Trujillo was able to join and give us advice on our next steps with the Grow Dome that is by the Grange Hall and Church.
We will have a workday on Saturday, September 20 starting at 7:30 a.m. (to beat the heat). Our task that day is to lay down the hardware cloth on the interior door to keep “critters” out of the Dome. We will scrape the existing gravel aside, then lay the cloth down, and then push the gravel back over the cloth. The more volunteers, the quicker we can get this done on the 20th.
Please bring a rake, shovel (flat), gloves, snacks & water, and some energy.
After this is completed, we can bring some temporary containers in for some fall planting. Long term, we’d like to have raised beds along the inside perimeter and in the middle of the dome. Grant writing is on the horizon and donations would be gladly accepted.
