ARF Animal Rescue Friends of Idyllwild CA ARF is a non-profit 501(c)3 volunteer rescue for lost, abandoned, or unwanted pets. We are open on weekends and by appointment M through F.

We also offer vaccination clinics and nail trim clinics monthly. Welcome to ARF, the little rescue with the big heart. We are located in the mountain village of Idyllwild, CA where we have been serving the community since 1994. An all-volunteer, grassroots, non-profit organization, ARF’s mission is to rescue animals that have been abandoned, lost, or whose owners are no longer able to care for the

m. We provide foster care until forever homes are located. All our animals are spay/neutered, receive necessary shots and other veterinary care as needed. Each year, relying only on the generosity of donors and small grants, ARF helps an increasing number of dogs and cats, turning sad stories into happy tails. ARF has always worked to educate our population about the importance of responsible pet ownership, including the need for spay/neuter and heartworm disease prevention. Good morning. Again, some false rumors/inaccuracies are being spread on FB about Idyllwild ARF. Please note: ARF has NOTHING to do with Mayor Max. MANY years ago, ARF sponsored the mayoral election as a fundraiser, but since the first MM passed, the entire enterprise has NOT been in the hands of ARF. ARF has NOT held any further elections. Mayor Max et al is a completely separate entity. ARF receives nothing from MM. All monies ARF receives are earned through fundraisers and donations. ARF does write for grants TO PAY FOR SPAYS/NEUTERS FOR LOCAL PET PARENTS WHO CANNOT AFFORD THE COST THEMSELVES. If you are uncertain about ARF or have questions, PLEASE ask us directly. We are an open book (and if we were rich, the board members and volunteers would be paid. We do not receive even one penny.)
