We believe
..in inspiring cooperative action to achieve a lifestyle that is more fulfilling, physically and mentally healthy, and economically secure for the individual and the collective;
..in targeting the communities' youth, retirees and low income families in our programs;
..in reducing the burdens of government by providing outreach and support to improve the quality of life for communi

ty members;
..in cooperating with other non-profits that have similar charitable, educational or scientific purposes.
..in enhancing the image of the community to locals and visitors;
..in researching innovative social and technical solutions to the sustainability issues we face;
..in lessening neighborhood tensions by providing opportunities for community engagement and enrichment;
..that the world can be a better place, and that we have much to contribute to this, our small corner of it, through our efforts to provide education about sustainability through composting and gardening...
..in encouraging every individual to get involved in improving our community.

Join us this Saturday in the Community Garden for an afternoon of w**ding, eating, and gathering with friends and neighbors!

🌱 3-5 PM: W**d for W**d (or Ice Cream!)
Come help our gardeners w**d this month! We're partnering with our neighbors, Mountain Mountain Medicinals and Sit N Chill Ice Cream — volunteer for a minimum of one hour to earn a discount card to either vendor.

🌱 5-7 PM: Summer Garden Social
Join us for a cookout! We'll have burgers and hot dogs going on the grill so bring a chair for the shade and something to share with your neighbors.

Hope to see you there!

FYI, When to plant flowers :)

When should you plant flowers? The short answer is this:

🌱Start seeds indoors weeks before your last frost date
🌻Transplant hardy flowers before or at last frost
🌸Plant tender annuals after frost danger passes
🌷Plant spring bulbs in fall, summer bulbs in spring

However. . .

Different plants need differing amounts of lead time before they are ready to be transplanted into the garden. Starting too soon can result in a weak, lanky plant, while starting too late can give you one that is just not ready for the outside world—both will struggle to survive!

Whichever flowers you're wondering about, wonder no more! Find our guide at Almanac.com/when-plant-flowers
