There is an active planning case that will go before the Clear Creek County Planning Commission tomorrow night. It is in regard to the "big lot" on Fall River Road aka the old ski lot, that many folks use to access St. Mary's Glacier.

If you'd like to comment on the case, please plan to attend tomorrow.

Sharing this image on lightning safety that is widely used in the SAR community and often posted by Colorado Search and Rescue Association - CSAR .

Even with snowfall starting in some parts of the state, lightning can still happen. We encourage backcountry enthusiasts to be aware of weather forecasts and be lightning aware. While there is no great place to be in the outdoors when lightning is present there are some areas that can be less dangerous. Your best choice is to avoid outdoor activities if the weather forecast is predicting lightning. Recreate early and get inside before storms approach.

⚠️ Mountain travelers and backcountry recreationists:

Accumulating snow is still expected for the higher mountain elevations tonight through Tuesday.

The heaviest snow will fall in the higher mountains of the Front Range, with a few of the higher peaks expected to see over a foot of snow! Majority of mountain passes (e.g. Berthoud Pass, Cameron Pass, approach to Eisenhower/Johnson Tunnels) will likely see 3-8 inches. Lighter accumulations will be possible down to 9,000 ft late tonight and Tuesday, but not impossible higher elevations of Peak to Peak highway see some snow.

Remember, real-time road conditions and traction device requirements are available at maps.cotrip.org.
