🚛📖 Truckers’ Bible Study Recap • 2 Samuel 11:1-27

📜 2 Samuel 11:1-5
In the season when kings go out to battle, David stayed in Jerusalem. From his rooftop, David saw Bathsheba, the wife of Uriah the Hittite. He inquired about her, sent for her, and she came to him. She was later found to be pregnant, and David immediately tried to conceal what had happened instead of turning to God in repentance.

📜 2 Samuel 11:6-9
David sent for Uriah the Hittite, Bathsheba’s husband, bringing him home from the battlefield in hopes he would go to his wife and cover the situation. But Uriah refused to go home while his fellow soldiers, the ark, and Israel were still in battle. His loyalty and integrity stood firm even in personal temptation.

📜 2 Samuel 11:10-13
David attempted again to get Uriah to go home by feeding him and giving him wine, but Uriah still would not return to his house. Uriah’s faithfulness to duty highlighted David’s growing compromise and refusal to confess.

📜 2 Samuel 11:14-17
David sent a letter through Uriah himself to Joab, ordering that Uriah be placed in the hardest part of the battle and then withdrawn so he would be struck down. Uriah was killed along with other soldiers. What began as hidden sin escalated into deliberate planning of death.

📜 2 Samuel 11:18-21
Joab sent a report back to David about the battle. Anticipating anger over losses, he included Uriah’s death in the report. David responded without repentance, continuing to manage the situation rather than address the sin before God.

📜 2 Samuel 11:22-25
The messenger fully reported what happened, including the death of Uriah the Hittite, the husband of Bathsheba. David told Joab not to be troubled and to continue the battle, minimizing the loss. The consequences of sin continued to spread outward.

📜 2 Samuel 11:26-27
When Bathsheba heard that her husband Uriah was dead, she mourned for him. After the mourning period, David brought her into his house as his wife, and she bore him a son. But the passage closes with a clear verdict: what David did displeased the Lord.

💡 Takeaway for the Road:
🛣 Sin often begins with unchecked desire, but grows through silence and concealment
🛣 Integrity stands out in contrast when others compromise, even under pressure
🛣 Nothing hidden from people is hidden from God, and His evaluation is what ultimately matters

🚛📖 Truckers’ Bible Study Recap • Genesis 35:16-36:43

📜 Genesis 35:16-20
Rachel went into labor on the journey near Ephrath and gave birth to Benjamin, but the birth was extremely difficult and she died. With her last breath, she named her son Ben-oni, but Jacob renamed him Benjamin. Rachel was buried on the way to Bethlehem, and Jacob set up a pillar at her grave. This marked deep grief in Jacob’s journey even as God’s promises continued.

📜 Genesis 35:21-22
Israel (Jacob) moved on and settled beyond the tower of Eder. During this time, Reuben committed a grievous sin by lying with Bilhah, his father’s concubine. This act brought dishonor and long-term consequences to Reuben’s standing in the family.

📜 Genesis 35:23-26
The sons of Jacob are listed again, showing the twelve tribes of Israel through Leah, Rachel, and their servants. This record emphasizes the growth of Israel’s family even through pain, failure, and imperfection.

📜 Genesis 35:27-29
Jacob returned to Isaac his father in Mamre near Hebron. Isaac died at a very old age, and Esau and Jacob came together to bury him. Even after years of separation and tension, they united in honoring their father.

📜 Genesis 36:1-8
The descendants of Esau are recorded. Esau is identified as Edom, and he separated from Jacob because their possessions were too great for the land to support them together. Esau settled in the hill country of Seir, showing the beginning of two distinct nations.

📜 Genesis 36:9-19
Esau’s family lines and chiefs are listed, showing the growth and establishment of Edom as a nation. Though not the chosen covenant line, Esau still becomes a father of many leaders and nations.

📜 Genesis 36:20-30
The descendants of Seir the Horite are listed, who inhabited the land before Edom. This shows the merging and displacement of peoples as nations formed and expanded in the region.

📜 Genesis 36:31-43
Kings of Edom are listed, ruling before any king reigned over Israel. The chapter closes by showing a structured and established kingdom growing apart from Jacob’s line, fulfilling God’s broader purposes in history.

💡 Takeaway for the Road:
🛣 Even in sorrow, loss, and family brokenness, God’s promises continue moving forward
🛣 Sin and failure within families have real consequences, but they do not stop God’s plan
🛣 God is sovereign over nations, generations, and timelines, even when things seem divided or uncertain

🚛📖 Truckers’ Bible Study Recap • 2 Samuel 10:1-19

📜 2 Samuel 10:1-5
After the death of the Ammonite king, David sought to show kindness to his son Hanun because of the kindness the former king had shown him. But Hanun’s advisors misinterpreted David’s intentions and humiliated his servants, shaving off half their beards and cutting their garments. David sent word for them to stay in Jericho until their shame had grown out, showing care for their dignity and healing.

📜 2 Samuel 10:6-8
The Ammonites realized they had made themselves odious to David and hired Syrian mercenaries to prepare for war. When David heard of it, he sent Joab and all the mighty men to confront them. The stage was set for a larger conflict because of mistrust and misunderstanding.

📜 2 Samuel 10:9-14
Joab divided Israel’s forces, positioning them to face both the Syrians and the Ammonites. Before the battle, he encouraged his brother Abishai, urging courage and trust in the Lord’s will. When the battle began, the Syrians fled before Israel, and the Ammonites also retreated. Joab and the army returned to Jerusalem victorious.

📜 2 Samuel 10:15-19
The Syrians regrouped and gathered additional forces to fight Israel again. David led Israel into battle, and God gave them victory once more. The Syrians made peace with Israel and stopped helping the Ammonites. The passage closes by emphasizing that the surrounding nations feared Israel and the Lord gave David success wherever he went.

💡 Takeaway for the Road:
🛣 Misunderstanding kindness can turn peace into unnecessary conflict
🛣 God calls His people to courage, unity, and trust even when battles multiply
🛣 Victory is not dependent on the size of the opposition, but on the Lord who goes before His people

🚛📖 Truckers’ Bible Study Recap • 2 Samuel 8:15-9:13

📜 2 Samuel 8:15-18
David reigned over all Israel with justice and righteousness. His administration was organized with leaders overseeing different areas of responsibility. The passage highlights key officials who served under David, showing a structured kingdom built on order, leadership, and stability. Through it all, David continued to rule under God’s guidance.

📜 2 Samuel 9:1-3
David asked if anyone remained from the house of Saul so he could show kindness for Jonathan’s sake. He was told about Mephibosheth, Jonathan’s son, who was disabled in both feet. Even though Saul’s household had been a former rival, David chose to act out of covenant love rather than fear or revenge.

📜 2 Samuel 9:4-7
David brought Mephibosheth before him. Instead of rejection, Mephibosheth received mercy. David restored to him all the land of Saul and gave him a permanent place at the king’s table. This act showed undeserved kindness rooted in covenant faithfulness, not personal gain.

📜 2 Samuel 9:8-13
Mephibosheth humbled himself, recognizing his unworthiness, yet David honored him and gave him servants to care for the land. From that day forward, Mephibosheth ate continually at the king’s table like one of the king’s sons. Despite his weakness and brokenness, he was welcomed, restored, and given a place of honor.

💡 Takeaway for the Road:
🛣 God’s kindness is often shown through restoration, not what we deserve
🛣 Brokenness does not disqualify someone from being brought near to the king
🛣 Covenant love chooses mercy, even when justice or fear would choose otherwise

🚛📖 Truckers’ Bible Study Recap • Revelation 2:1-7

📜 Revelation 2:1
Jesus speaks to the church in Ephesus as the One who holds the seven stars in His right hand and walks among the seven golden lampstands. This reminds us that Christ is present with His churches and fully aware of their condition.

📜 Revelation 2:2-3
Jesus commends their hard work, endurance, and refusal to tolerate evil. They tested false teachers and persevered through hardship without growing weary. This church was active, discerning, and committed to truth.

📜 Revelation 2:4-5
Yet Jesus rebukes them for leaving their first love. Though they were faithful in works and doctrine, their devotion to Christ had cooled. He calls them to remember, repent, and return to the works they did at first, warning that if they do not, their lampstand will be removed.

📜 Revelation 2:6
Jesus also commends them for hating the practices of the Nicolaitans, which He also hates. Even in correction, He acknowledges what they were doing right in standing against false teaching and corruption.

📜 Revelation 2:7
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who overcomes, He will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God. This is a promise of eternal life and restored fellowship with God for those who remain faithful.

💡 Takeaway for the Road:
🛣 It is possible to do all the right works and still drift in heart toward God
🛣 Jesus cares not only about what we do, but why we do it and who we love
🛣 True endurance in faith includes returning again and again to our first love for Christ

06/13/2026

🚛📖 Truckers’ Bible Study Recap • Genesis 35:1-15

📜 Genesis 35:1-4
God called Jacob to go up to Bethel and dwell there, and to build an altar to God who had appeared to him when he fled from Esau. Jacob told his household to put away foreign gods, purify themselves, and change their garments. They surrendered their idols, including earrings, and Jacob buried them under the terebinth tree near Shechem. This was a turning point of cleansing, repentance, and renewed devotion.

📜 Genesis 35:5-7
As they traveled, the fear of God fell upon the surrounding cities, and no one pursued Jacob’s family. Jacob arrived safely in Luz, also called Bethel, and built an altar there. He named the place El-Bethel, because there God had revealed Himself to him when he fled from his brother.

📜 Genesis 35:8
Deborah, Rebekah’s nurse, died and was buried below Bethel under an oak, which was named Allon Bacuth, meaning “oak of weeping.” This moment marked sorrow within the larger story of God’s faithfulness and Jacob’s journey.

📜 Genesis 35:9-12
God appeared again to Jacob and blessed him. He reaffirmed his name change to Israel and restated the covenant promises: that a nation and a company of nations would come from him, and that the land promised to Abraham and Isaac would belong to his descendants. God’s faithfulness continued across generations.

📜 Genesis 35:13-15
God went up from Jacob at the place where He had spoken with him. Jacob set up a pillar and poured out a drink offering and oil, dedicating the place to God. Again, he named it Bethel, declaring it as the place where God had spoken to him.

💡 Takeaway for the Road:
🛣 Before renewed blessing, God often calls us to remove what does not belong in our lives
🛣 God is faithful to repeat and reaffirm His promises, even when we are still growing
🛣 True worship often begins with surrender, cleansing, and remembering what God has already done

06/13/2026

🚛📖 Truckers’ Bible Study Recap • Revelation 1:8-20

📜 Revelation 1:8
The Lord God declares that He is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, who is, who was, and who is to come, the Almighty. This is a declaration of God’s eternal nature and absolute authority over all time, history, and creation.

📜 Revelation 1:9-11
John, exiled on the island of Patmos because of his testimony of Jesus, was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day when he heard a loud voice like a trumpet. He was instructed to write what he saw and send it to the seven churches in Asia. Even in isolation, God was still speaking and revealing His truth.

📜 Revelation 1:12-16
John turned and saw seven golden lampstands, and in the midst of them was one like a son of man. Jesus is described in glory and majesty, with a robe, golden sash, white hair like wool, eyes like fire, feet like bronze, and a voice like many waters. A sharp two edged sword came from His mouth, and His face shone like the sun. This vision reveals Christ’s holiness, authority, and divine power.

📜 Revelation 1:17-18
When John saw Him, he fell at His feet as though dead. Jesus laid His right hand on him and said, “Do not be afraid. I am the first and the last, and the living one. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and Hades.” This shows Christ’s victory over death and His authority over eternity.

📜 Revelation 1:19-20
Jesus instructed John to write what he had seen, what is now, and what will take place later. The seven stars represent the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands represent the churches themselves. This vision establishes that Jesus stands among His church and holds it in His hands.

💡 Takeaway for the Road:
🛣 Jesus is not distant, He is present among His church and fully aware of everything happening
🛣 The same Jesus who speaks with authority also brings comfort and says “do not be afraid”
🛣 Christ holds authority over life, death, and eternity, and nothing is outside His control

🚛📖 Truckers’ Bible Study Recap • 2 Samuel 8:1-14

📜 2 Samuel 8:1-2
David defeated the Philistines and subdued them, taking control of key territories. He also defeated the Moabites, measuring them with a line and determining who would live and who would die. Those who remained became servants to David and brought tribute. These victories expanded Israel’s influence and demonstrated God’s hand in establishing David’s kingdom.

📜 2 Samuel 8:3-8
David defeated Hadadezer, king of Zobah, as Hadadezer attempted to extend his power near the Euphrates River. David captured horses, chariots, and soldiers, limiting military resources that could be used against Israel. When the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadadezer, David defeated them as well. He placed garrisons in Syria, and the Syrians became servants who brought tribute. The Lord gave David victory wherever he went.

📜 2 Samuel 8:9-12
When Toi king of Hamath heard of David’s victories over Hadadezer, he sent his son Joram to greet David and bless him. Joram brought gifts of silver, gold, and bronze. David dedicated these treasures to the Lord, along with the spoil he had gained from the nations he had subdued. Rather than claiming the glory for himself, David recognized that the victories belonged to God.

📜 2 Samuel 8:13-14
David gained further renown after striking down eighteen thousand Edomites in the Valley of Salt. He established garrisons throughout Edom, and the Edomites became his servants. The passage concludes by emphasizing once again that the Lord gave victory to David wherever he went.

💡 Takeaway for the Road:
🛣 Success and victory are ultimately gifts from God, not merely the result of our own efforts.
🛣 When God blesses us, our response should be gratitude and dedication rather than pride.
🛣 The Lord is faithful to accomplish His purposes and strengthen those who walk in obedience to Him.

06/08/2026

🚛📖 Truckers’ Bible Study Recap • Genesis 34:5-31

📜 Genesis 34:5-7
Jacob heard that Dinah had been defiled, but he remained silent until his sons returned from the field. When they heard what had happened, Jacob’s sons were grieved and furious because Shechem had committed an outrageous act against Israel by violating Dinah. The family was deeply shaken by the sin and dishonor brought upon them.

📜 Genesis 34:8-12
Hamor and Shechem came to speak with Jacob’s family, asking for Dinah to be given to Shechem as his wife. They proposed intermarriage, shared land, and peaceful relations between the two groups. Shechem offered whatever bride-price or gift was demanded because he desired Dinah greatly.

📜 Genesis 34:13-17
Jacob’s sons answered deceitfully because Shechem had defiled their sister. They told Hamor and Shechem that the men of their city would need to be circumcised before any marriage agreement could happen. Though circumcision was a sign of God’s covenant, they used it dishonestly as part of a plan for revenge.

📜 Genesis 34:18-24
Hamor and Shechem agreed to the condition and persuaded the men of their city to be circumcised. They appealed to the promise of shared wealth, livestock, and possessions if the families united together. The men listened and agreed, not realizing the danger that was coming.

📜 Genesis 34:25-29
Three days later, while the men were still recovering, Simeon and Levi attacked the city and killed all the males, including Hamor and Shechem. They rescued Dinah from Shechem’s house. The other sons of Jacob then plundered the city, taking livestock, wealth, women, and children because their sister had been defiled. The violence escalated far beyond justice into ruthless revenge.

📜 Genesis 34:30-31
Jacob rebuked Simeon and Levi for bringing trouble upon him and making his family offensive to the people of the land. He feared retaliation because they were few in number. Simeon and Levi defended their actions, asking if their sister should have been treated like a pr******te. The chapter closes with tension, grief, anger, and unresolved conflict within the family.

💡 Takeaway for the Road:
🛣 Sin often creates a chain reaction of pain, anger, deception, and destruction.
🛣 Even when someone has been deeply wronged, revenge carried out in anger can lead to even greater harm.
🛣 God’s people are called to pursue justice with righteousness, not uncontrolled wrath or deceit.
