❤️ A legacy that continues at Hillcrest.

Tucked among years of Hillcrest soccer awards is one very special soccer ball.

It carries a photo of Lucas Hirschi and the signatures of the students who have received the Lucas Hirschi Memorial Scholarship.

Lucas’s mom, Kathi, created this scholarship as a way to honor her son and continue something that mattered deeply to him: soccer, teammates, sportsmanship and lifting others.

We love that this ball now has a permanent place among Hillcrest’s soccer history. As each new recipient signs it, Lucas’s legacy continues alongside the community he was part of.

The Bonneville Education Foundation is honored to help administer this scholarship.

And we want our community to know that BEF can help others do this too.

Families, businesses and community members who want to establish a scholarship benefiting D93 students can work with the Foundation to help turn that idea into something that continues giving for years to come.

💙 What does lasting classroom impact look like?

Sometimes it looks like this.

A previous BEF Teacher Grant helped provide sensory equipment that students can use again and again, long after the grant itself has been awarded.

That’s something we love to see in Teacher Grant applications: ideas that put meaningful resources directly into classrooms and continue benefiting students over time.

🔬🚀 The Traveling STEM Lab is on the move!

Today, the Bonneville Education Foundation’s Traveling STEM Lab is visiting Mountain Valley Elementary! 💙

We love seeing D93 students learning, exploring, experimenting, and discovering through hands-on STEM experiences right at their own school.

🏈 POP OF GOOD | COACH CHRIS CARNES 🏈

What an incredible night at Thunder Ridge! We were so honored to recognize Coach Chris Carnes as one of our October Pop of Good recipients during tonight’s Homecoming game.

We are incredibly grateful to Iona Pop Shop for making this program possible, to the amazing administration, coaching staff, and football team at Thunder Ridge for helping us make tonight so special, and to our BEF board members who joined us on the field to celebrate Coach Carnes.

Coach Carnes received multiple nominations from different families with different experiences, but they all shared one common message: Coach Carnes understands the importance of belonging.

He is a teacher and coach who makes students feel seen, valued, encouraged, and part of something bigger than themselves. He holds his students and athletes accountable while cheering them on every step of the way. As one nomination so perfectly put it, he isn’t just helping develop great athletes. He is helping develop good humans.

Coach Carnes, thank you for believing in our students, for making sure they know they have a place to belong, and for the countless ways you show up for kids every single day.

You are the good happening in District 93.

Congratulations, Coach Carnes! We are so grateful for you!

THIS is what happens when a community comes together for students! ❤️🖤⚾️

We recently had the opportunity to visit Hillcrest High School and see some of the incredible improvements the Hillcrest High School Baseball Booster Club has worked so hard to make possible for Hillcrest Baseball.

Through years of fundraising, planning, coordination and dedication, the Baseball Booster Club has helped bring major improvements to the program, including fencing and gates, upgraded dugout railings, an elite batting cage, dugout benches, player cubbies and bat racks, backstop and dugout padding, power for the pitching machine, pathway improvements, uniforms, team gear and so much more.

But none of this happens without people who are willing to give.

To every business, family, community member and individual who has donated to support Hillcrest Baseball, THANK YOU. ❤️ Your generosity has helped turn ideas into reality and created improvements that will benefit Hillcrest student athletes for years to come.

We also cannot say enough about the Hillcrest High School Baseball Booster Club. They saw opportunities to make things better for their athletes, rallied their community around those needs and put in an incredible amount of work to bring their vision to life. They deserve tremendous credit for what they have accomplished.

The Bonneville Education Foundation is simply grateful that we could provide a pathway to help.

This is one of the things we love about donor-directed giving through BEF. When members of our community have a school, team, club or program they care about, BEF can provide a way for donors to direct their charitable gifts toward that purpose.

We are so grateful to the Hillcrest High School Baseball Booster Club for their leadership and hard work, and to every donor who trusted BEF as a pathway for their generosity.

We may have helped provide the path, but this community brought the vision to life. ❤️🖤⚾️

🧥💙 From Lost to Loved is ready for another school year!

As colder weather moves into East Idaho, BEF’s continuous coat swap is here to help D93 students stay warm.

Coats, jackets and sweatshirts left unclaimed in our schools’ lost and founds are collected, washed and prepared to be loved again by another student.

Parents, teachers and students can request an item, and BEF will deliver it directly to the student’s school.

No student names are collected through our request form.

Something once lost can become something incredibly useful again. 💙

🪣💙 376 FAST Buckets didn’t assemble themselves!

Before they could make their way into classrooms across D93, there was a whole lot of sorting, assembling, stacking and teamwork happening behind the scenes.

We had some pretty amazing helpers, big AND small, jump in to help us get our first round ready for schools.

This project has truly been a community effort. PTOs, student councils, donors, volunteers, SROs, district staff and community partners have all played a part.

376 classrooms now have FAST Buckets in place, and we’re not finished yet. 💙

Tonight was about Loving Like Lucas. ❤️⚽

The Hillcrest soccer community came together tonight to remember Lucas Hirschi, celebrate the way he loved and impacted the people around him, and share the Lucas Hirschi Memorial Scholarship, created by his family in his honor.

During Su***de Prevention Month, tonight was a beautiful reminder that the way we show up for one another matters. Be kind. Include others. Check on your people. Love big. Love Like Lucas.

This scholarship belongs to the Hirschi family and the incredible community that has rallied around them. We are especially grateful to Lucas’s mom, Kathi, who has taken unimaginable heartbreak and found a way to continue sharing her son’s light while creating opportunities for other students in his name.

The Bonneville Education Foundation is honored to support Kathi and the Hirschi family in this work and to help carry out their vision for this scholarship.

What a beautiful legacy. ❤️

💙 D93 Teachers: What could a BEF Teacher Grant do in your classroom?

🥤🍿 Another Pop of Good in D93!

Over the last few weeks, we received nearly 20 nominations for one incredible lady, MerriAnn Beltran, a duty aide at Rimrock Elementary!

And after getting the chance to meet her, it’s easy to understand why she is so loved by Rimrock students and families.

Whether she’s helping a student open something at lunch, zipping up a coat, making sure a lost item finds its way back to its owner, offering a word of encouragement to a parent or student, supporting a coworker, or simply greeting families with a smile MerriAnn notices people. She knows nearly every student at Rimrock by name, and she makes kids and families feel seen, known, and cared for.

She exemplifies the good happening in D93.

And here’s the really incredible part: this kind of good is happening at every single school across our district.

It takes a thousand helping hands, smiles, zipped-up coats, opened lunch packages, encouraging words, and small acts of kindness to make a great school day possible. And D93 is bursting at the brim with incredible people doing those things every single day.

Thanks to our wonderful partners at Iona Pop Shop, we’re on a mission to find them and celebrate them. 🥤🍿
