Our hearts are heavy today as we mourn the lives lost and stand with those injured in Twin Falls. We extend our deepest condolences to the families, friends, and colleagues of those who were taken from us far too soon, and to everyone grappling with the shock and grief of this senseless act of violence.

In moments like these, it is vital that we turn to one another. To our LGBTQIA+ family, allies, and neighbors across Southern Idaho: please check on each other. If you are struggling, know that you are not alone. There is strength in our unity and comfort in our shared humanity.

While details are still emerging, let us commit to being a source of healing rather than fear. Let us honor the victims by continuing to build a community where every person, regardless of identity, is safe, valued, and protected.

We are saddened, but we are resilient. Our community is strong, and we will get through this together.

Gate City Pride is considering starting a parent/caretaker of LGBTQIA+ kids (of all ages) support group facilitated by our president Kellie, LMSW. This will be a space to learn and help create safe spaces for our kiddos. But we can’t do this alone. Message or comment below if this is a resource you would utilize or like to help facilitate.

Thank you to Mocha Madness for hosting us in their space and holding our books for pick-up (next month's is available now)! Thank you to Professor Jack, Miss Cali, Kellie, and special guest Mr. Zae for this discussion. Discussing a narrative with a Deaf protagonist was long overdue!

And thank you to Gate City Pride for being our partners in this one-of-a-kind book club for our high schoolers.

RTWTQ and Gate City Pride will be hosting another book club for teenagers in 9th to 12th grade! 📖 This month, we will be reading You're Welcome, Universe by Whitney Gardner.

If you plan on attending, you’ll want to get ready by reading the book. 📕 Visit our website for links to purchase the book from Bookshop.org, read/listen to the book on Libby, or visit Mocha Madness for a FREE copy. (Just let your barista know you’re a teen who needs a copy of the RTWTTeens book and they will be happy to help!)💻
