The Troop was off backpacking to Upper Palisades Lake this past weekend. Weather was great (that is, no rain) with lots of sun. Overnight temperature was quite mild. It was a 2-nighter with a day hike up Waterfall Canyon on Saturday. Lots of folks on the trails, along with a few horses, trail runners, and mountain bikers. Of course we had square ice cream at Swan Valley on the way home.

This is a bit late, but we wanted to let you know that we were out in April and May.
In April the Troop was off to the District Cycling Camporee at Massacre Rocks with trail and road rides, as well as other activities.
In May, we dis our highway cleanup going into Swan Valley from the west side. Camping was at the Falls Campground, where we also did some service work putting ravel in the campground road potholes.
Weather was good for both outings.

The Troop was of on the Aimed Sports outing this weekend at the Unified Sportsman's Club east of Rexburg. Weather was good, although it was rather warm and windy Saturday afternoon. We did the training at the outing and ran 6 stations (.22 50-foot Bullseye, .22 Silhouette, .22 Long Range, Archery, Black Powder, and Shotgun). Food was good. Camping was good. The Scouts did 3 outstanding cobblers in the evening. Sunday we did a trash cleanup on the main club ranges. All went well and safely, and our adults did an outstanding job managing their stations.

The Troop was off doing ILST (Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops) at Zane Cutler's property north east of Idaho Falls this weekend. Weather was quite mild (low of 26 overnight with just a bit of rain/snow on Saturday). Decent food and a good time was had by all! We were originally set to do this earlier in March, but we had some miserable weather roll through and then a couple weekends of Spring Break. So we ended up with the first half of Easter weekend.

The Troop was off for a February outing this past weekend. We were snowshoeing along the old railroad grade near Mesa Falls and camped at Bear Gulch. There was quite a bit of snow up there. We went about 3 miles up the old RR grade and then had lunch down the hill to the river's edge. It was a bit of a challenge getting up and down the hill in the deep snow. The RR grade was well packed by the snow machine travel. Icy in the morning and getting soft by afternoon on the way back. Low temperature was 24 degrees overnight and the we even had some sun on the trail. Great scenery and a good time. All did well.
Enjoy the bunch of photos.
