It’s the season for Tricks and Treats at the ! During the month of October, check out a wrapped book from our Trick or Treat display on the third floor of the library and enter to win a gift card to a local business!

It is that time of the year again where the Community Food Basket - Idaho Falls partners with others in our community for the areas largest food drive.

Each Friday and Saturday in October from 10am until 2pm volunteers from local businesses and groups will be at the following grocery stores gathering much needed non perishable food items to help those facing food insecurity in our community:

Broulim's in Ammon
Albertson's on 25th E
Sam's Club
Albertson's on 17th St.
Albertson's on W. Broadway

We could really use your help! Last year we collected nearly 150,000 pounds. This year our goal is 200,000 pounds and we won't be able to do it without YOU!

Can't make it to the store or don't want to shop?

Scan the QR code on the flier and we'll be able to purchase $4.70 worth of food for every $1 you donate!

Your donation stays local AND does make a difference!

Update: If you plan to attend the Blackfoot shoe distribution today, do not park in the building parking lot or in front of the building along Ash St. until 3:00pm. Please do not line up outside the building until 3:00pm. We have parents picking their children up prior to that time, and we need to allow for a smooth and safe transition. Thank you!

Thanks to the generous donations provided by the 2025 Giving Machine, EICAP will be distributing Shoe Shopping Passes for childrens shoes. Passes are good at participating Shoe Department locations in Idaho Falls, Rexburg, and Chubbuck. Please review the post for additional information, and watch our page for future posts on distribution locations, dates, and times.

EDIT: just to clarify, the child doesn't have to be present to pick up the voucher, but they do need to be present when it is redeemed in the store. These are free and worth $30 towards the purchase of a pair of shoes. Thank you!

Join us Wednesday, September 23, for our annual Fire Prevention Block Party!

Come enjoy tours of fire trucks, free food, face painting, firefighter challenges for kids, Sparky the NFPA mascot, a variety of activities, and plenty of opportunities to hang out with the firefighters who serve our community.

The Idaho Falls Fire Department’s annual Fire Prevention Block Party is next week, on Wednesday, Sept. 23, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Station 1 Headquarters downtown, on 343 E St. It's an entirely free, family-friendly event that IFFD looks forward to every year!

Bring the family, eat, have some fun, and learn important fire safety tips along the way.
