YOU ARE NOT ALONE!
The Bonneville County Coroner's Office has responded to 3 suicides in the last 12 days. We understand that life can become overwhelming. Sometimes the weight of stress, grief, depression, trauma, substance use, or simply trying to make it through another difficult day can feel like more than we can carry alone, but we want the remind the community that help is available—and asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
There are a number of local and national resources that you can connect with for support. Our office posts a list of just some of them on our website at https://www.bonnevillecountyidaho.gov/page/community-resources
Across Idaho and the nation, 988 is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can call or text 988 for yourself or someone you care about. You do not have to be suicidal to reach out—988 is also there for emotional distress, mental health concerns, substance-use concerns, or simply when you need someone to talk to.
Most importantly, don't face a difficult moment alone. Reach out to a friend, family member, counselor, faith leader, chaplain, first responder, crisis center, or 988. Sometimes the most important step toward hope is simply letting someone know, “I'm not okay, and I need some help.”
There is help. There is hope. And you are worth reaching for both.
