The Idaho Falls Youth Arts Centre fosters a positive outlet for youth to build on their unique skills and talents.

Through artistic growth and achievement, youth are empowered with a positive self-image that benefits the entire community.

Every musician in our orchestra started somewhere.

Our Strings program gives youth in 3rd - 6th grade the foundation to become musicians who can read music, develop technique, and perform live.

Led by instructor Teryn Gundersen, students build the skills that carry them into school music programs and community orchestras (maybe even IFYAC's pit.)

Students perform a live recital at the end of each semester, so the stage experience starts early.

Fall 2026 semester starts September 16th. Classes meet weekly on Wednesdays at 4:30 – 5:30 PM

From lead roles to ensemble members, everyone onstage is playing a character. We've seen kids encouraged to "think of your character - What's their name? What's their favorite color? What job do they do? "

Between learning lines, blocking, and choreography there's very little time to actually build a strong character.

That's where Magic Makers comes in. Just like a dance class or rec sports, acting skills need to be taught, explored, and practiced.

Magic Makers is a weekly creative drama program where kids stretch their imagination, discover their voice, and work with others to create something magical.

Open to ages 5+ | Classes start the week of September 7th!

Theatre isn't just performing. It's reading, thinking, and asking questions about the work. Teen Script Club is where those conversations happen.

On September 4th, we'll be reading "Fools" by Neil Simon.

In this comic fable, Leon Tolchinsky lands a terrific teaching job in an idyllic Russian hamlet. When he arrives, he finds the town has been cursed with Chronic Stupidity for two hundred years. Will Leon break the curse?

Don't worry about reading the script beforehand. We'll be doing a cold, table read together!

The club is open to teens 13-18. We meet monthly on the first Friday from 4 - 6 pm at IFYAC (3910 S Yellowstone, Idaho Falls). Come as often as you can - you don't need to attend every month to be in the club.

☀️Summer Camp Shoutout! 📣

Before we move on to our fall musical, Anastasia, we wanted to take a moment to look back on an incredible summer.

The success of our Summer Theatre Camps is because of these amazing people-our production team. Thank you for the countless hours, the energy, the creativity, and the joy you poured into every camp.

IFYAC is built around these summers, and we can’t express how grateful we are for the love and care you gave every child who walked through our doors. Thank you for creating a place where kids could laugh, grow, make new friends, gain confidence, discover their talents, and fall in love with theatre.

You didn’t just put on camps-you created memories that will stay with these kids for years to come. Thank you for making this summer one they’ll never forget.❤️

✨Phylicia Fife (Phish)

Phylicia Fife believes theatre is about more than putting on a great show-it’s about building confidence, creating community, and helping people discover their potential. As a vocal coach, director, wife, and mother of four, she is passionate about helping performers of all ages find their voice both on and off the stage.
Directing Anastasia has been a longtime dream, and she is honored to bring this beautiful story of hope, family, and finding where you belong to the stage with the incredible cast and team at IFYAC. She loves creating a rehearsal environment where hard work, creativity, collaboration and fun go hand in hand.
Phylicia is grateful for everyone who makes live theatre possible and hopes this production leaves audiences inspired long after the curtain falls.
