ATTENTION TRAIL USERS:
Mountain Bike the Tetons is hosting a permitted mountain bike race (not-for-profit) this weekend and would like to communicate some details.

DATE: Saturday August 22nd, 2026 @ 8am-5pm
LOCATION: Palisades and Big Holes Trails
EXPECT FAST DOWNHILL TRAFFIC ON: (50 people)
Mike Spencer (9:00am-10:00am)
Spencer Mountain (10:00am-11:00am)
Fogg Hill, North Fork Palisades Creek (1:30pm-3:30pm)
Mikesell Canyon (3:00pm-4:30pm)
The trails will not be closed, but we ask people to plan around these times if possible. Thank you!

🏔️ **Mountain West Recreation Alliance has some exciting things in the works!**

We can’t share all the details just yet… but we’re looking forward to what’s ahead for responsible recreation, education, and getting more families outside.

In the meantime, here’s your reminder: ALL 4th graders can get a FREE National Parks pass!

Through the Every Kid Outdoors program, fourth graders and their families can explore participating national parks, forests, wildlife refuges, and other federal public lands for FREE!

If you have a 4th grader this year, don’t let this opportunity go to waste. Grab your pass, pack up the family, and go make some memories outside. ❤️

🏔️ How many hidden lakes do you think Idaho has?

Not hundreds. Thousands.

From alpine lakes tucked beneath rugged peaks to quiet mountain ponds that never make it onto postcards, Idaho is home to an incredible number of backcountry lakes waiting to be discovered.

The best part? Many of them are on public land, meaning they belong to all of us.

Places like this don’t stay accessible by accident. Trails, access roads, public land protections, and recreation opportunities all depend on people who care enough to speak up and get involved.

The next time you find yourself sitting beside a mountain lake with nobody else around, take a moment to appreciate what makes that possible.

🌲 This view exists because someone helped protect access to it.

Every trail you've hiked.
Every campsite you've loved.
Every mountain road you've explored.

None of it stays open by accident.

Idaho is home to thousands of miles of recreation trails and public access routes, but future generations will only enjoy them if we continue to be good stewards and advocates for the outdoors.
