Sometimes our young girls go through a phase where they don’t want to talk to anyone because they feel misunderstood — like no one really gets what they’re going through.

That’s exactly why Girl Talk Real Talk now exists. We’ve created a safe, welcoming space where young ladies can come in, write down any topic or question they may be struggling with, and know they’ll be heard.

Carla Fountain brings together a caring panel of community members who volunteer their time to help guide, support, and talk through these real-life topics.

✨ Girl Talk Real Talk – First Ever Session! ✨

We are excited to share that the very first Girl Talk Real Talk session was held on July 18, 2023, at the Booker T. Washington Community Center, hosted by Carla Fountain.

“Our mission is to be a bridge to provide information to our youth girls about real-life situations,” said Fountain. She will be on hand to answer any questions — no questions are off limits. Every GTRT event is designed to be a safe zone, giving young ladies a place to talk, learn, and grow.

Carla Fountain brings an incredible background to this program. She is a college basketball referee, a former WNBA G-League referee, a Hall of Fame Inductee at Paris Junior College, and a former basketball player at the University of Houston.

Be on the lookout for our Christmas party outing coming up soon — we will announce the date shortly! 🎄✨

We’re so proud of this first session and can’t wait to see Girl Talk Real Talk continue to empower young women in our community! 💕📘✨

The Second Annual Flag football fundraiser featuring McCurtain County First Responders and Community All-Stars is in the books. A huge thank you to all the amazing First Responders that participated. Your dedication, teamwork, and community spirit made the event unforgettable. We also extend our gratitude to all the incredible teams who took the field and made this event fun and competitive. We appreciate you all-on and off the field.
