We are brainstorming some ideas for this fall/Holiday Season, and would love your feedback. What do you all think of the following ideas?

Christmas Light Display Competition - Participants chip in a small amount ($25-$50) and decorate their homes. The Chamber creates a list/map of all participants for the community to view. And then, we have an online vote, where the top 3 will recieve prizes!

Leslie County Christmas Tour of Homes - Christmas Decoration tour of homes around Leslie County. This would be a set timed event, where visitors purchase a ticket to see several homes, some with historic significance, at a festive open house type evening. At the end of the evening, participants will select a winner for a prize.

And we're thinking of some sort of "Mrs. Claus' Christmas Kitchen" where we have a baked goods/traditional recipe showcase or competition. I'll be honest, this one is still more idea than anything. But we like the name "Mrs. Claus' Christmas Kitchen," if nothing else.

The goal is to get more activity around Hyden and Leslie County this holiday season, and hopefully make a little money for the Chamber/local charities. If you have any thoughts or idea, please share them! We need all the help we can get!
