We are accepting donations for families in the neighborhood of Massaranduba, on the outskirts of Salvaldor, Bahia, Brazil. This is where Baba Jan grew up, his family, friends and teachers still live there. In and around his neighborhood, there is a great need for food as many people cannot work due to Covid19. Families, kids are going hungry. We are trying to raise money for what is called a 'cesta basica'. A cesta basica is essentially a basic food kit that will give a family, beans, rice, oil, fruits, vegetables, etc. Basic, simple food for the month. Our organization is working with Baba's family and organizations in Brasil to distribute this food. Approximately $50 can buy 1 cesta basica for a month's worth of food for a family.
