This Flag Day, we honor more than a symbol—we recognize the enduring ideals it represents: unity, freedom, sacrifice, and the strength of a nation built on service. The American flag stands as a reminder of the values our service members defend and the responsibility we share to uphold them. 🇺🇸

At the Cape & Islands Veterans Outreach Center, we are proud to support the men and women who served under this flag. Through housing assistance, critical resources including 14 monthly food pantries, and ongoing outreach, we work every day to ensure that no veteran is left behind.

Today, we reflect with gratitude on their service and recommit ourselves to standing beside them—just as they stood for all of us.

The event was held at Bridges by EPOCH in Mashpee, and despite the rainy weather, the energy was incredibly warm and collaborative. Barbara-Anne had a wonderful time connecting with so many dedicated community partners who share our mission of supporting local veterans.

Together, we are building a stronger network of care and resources for our veterans. 🤝🎖️

Today, we honor the 82nd anniversary of Operation Overlord (D-Day), June 6, 1944—a defining moment in history when Allied forces stormed the beaches of Normandy in the fight for freedom.

Operation Overlord was the codename for the Battle of Normandy, the Allied operation that launched the successful liberation of German-occupied Western Europe during World War II.

On Omaha Beach, American service members faced unimaginable odds. Many never made it off the sand. Thousands gave their lives that day, and thousands more are laid to rest overlooking those same shores at the Normandy American Cemetery.

We remember their courage. We honor their sacrifice. And we carry forward their legacy.

At Cape & Islands Veterans Outreach Center, we stand in gratitude for those who served and those who never came home. Their bravery continues to inspire our mission to support the veterans of today.

We will never forget.
