Ten years. ❤

It’s hard to believe that this year marks 10 years since inception of the Heart of MFB. What started from one of the most uncertain seasons has grown into something our President never imagined.

Because of this community, we’ve been able to walk alongside families navigating birth defects helping with small reminders that they are not alone during long hospital days.

In honor of Heart Month and this 10-year milestone, we launched a Congenital Heart Defect Awareness t-shirt fundraiser. And we would truly love your support.

Every shirt purchased helps lighten the load for a family whose child is fighting for every heartbeat. It’s practical help, but it’s also a message that someone sees them and cares.

If this mission has ever meant something to you, or if you’ve followed our journey over the years, this is a simple way to stand with heart families.

Thank you for supporting something that is so deeply personal.❤

Founded from personal experience to support families facing heart defects.. Heart Month is a time to raise awareness for congenital heart defects, but for families living...

This week also holds space for remembrance.

We honor the children we’ve lost, the families who carry their love forward, and the hearts that will always be part of this community.

Your child is remembered.
Your love is seen.

💛 Heart of the Prairie Run – Celebrating 10 Years of Heart 💛

As many of you know, the Heart of the Prairie Run has been rescheduled to May 30, 2026 and this year carries even deeper meaning.

2026 marks 10 years since the inception of the Heart of MFB.

Ten years of walking alongside families.
Ten years of care packages and encouragement.
Ten years of hope in the middle of medical uncertainty.

This milestone year deserves a strong community showing and we need your help to make that happen.

We are actively seeking race sponsors, community partners, runners, walkers, and volunteers who believe in supporting families facing pregnancy complications and birth defects. Your sponsorship or participation not only makes this event possible, it directly strengthens the support we provide to families during some of their most vulnerable moments.

If you’ve been thinking about getting involved, this is the year to do it. Help us make our 10th year one that truly honors the heart behind this mission.

No family should navigate a CHD diagnosis alone.

At The Heart of MFB, we believe in the power of connection, whether that’s through shared stories, education, or simply knowing someone understands.

Community doesn’t fix everything, but it can make the journey feel less heavy.

Watch for our spring blog series coming soon with impactful stories from families impacted by heart defects.

Congenital Heart Defects are complex, and no two journeys look the same.

Some children face multiple surgeries.
Some live with lifelong monitoring.
Some stories include loss.

Awareness means understanding that CHDs aren’t “one-and-done” and that compassion starts with listening and learning.

💙

Living with a congenital heart defect doesn’t end after surgery or diagnosis; it’s an ongoing journey that families carry every day.

Today, we honor the parents, siblings, grandparents, and caregivers who show up with strength, patience, and love; often quietly and without recognition.

Your resilience matters.
Your experience matters.
You are not alone.

Congenital Heart Defects affect 1 in 100 babies, making them the most common birth defect. Yet many families walk this journey feeling unseen or misunderstood.

This week, The Heart of MFB is honoring heart warriors, families, caregivers, and clinicians and sharing space for awareness, understanding, and support.

Every heart has a story.
Every story matters.

Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Week

Congenital Heart Defects (CHDs) are the most common birth defect, affecting 1 in every 100 babies. For families, a CHD diagnosis often means a journey filled with uncertainty, resilience, and strength, long before and long after a child’s first heartbeat is heard.

At The Heart of MFB, this week is about more than awareness. It’s about honoring the children and families living with CHDs, recognizing the caregivers and medical teams who walk alongside them, and reaffirming our commitment to education, support, and advocacy.

Every story matters. Every heart matters. And together, through compassion and community, we can continue to shine a light on CHDs and the families impacted by them.

💙 Join us in spreading awareness, sharing stories, and supporting heart families, this week and always.

Meet our President's son, Owen. Owen was born in 2016 with multiple heart defects requiring several open heart surgeries before age 2. He is now almost 10 years old and has beat multiple odds.❤️‍🩹❤️❤️‍🩹
