Happy Labor Day, we hope you all enjoy your day off. Also thank you to everyone that made it out to the picnic on Friday night, we hope everyone had a good time.

Good morning Sisters and Brothers, tomorrow is the Labor Day Picnic at Rice Park at 5:30.
The big bounce house will have a sprinkler hooked up to it. It is going to be fairly hot tomorrow and it will help keep the kids cool.
So please bring swim trunks or clothes that can get wet.
Also we are going to play right left center, this game requires $1 bills. I will bring a far amount to break $5,$10, and possible $20. If you think about it, grab a couple dollars in cash and join in the fun. It is $3 per person each game.

Tea and Lemonade will be provided when the food arrives. I will have bottles of water available also. If you want anything other than Tea, Lemonade, or water please feel free to bring it.

Also grab a lawn chair if you have one.

We look forward to seeing everyone
tomorrow to kick the Labor Day weekend off.

Sisters and Brothers we are one week away from the Labor Day Picnic, we would like to see everyone make it out for dinner, games and socializing. We will have 2 bounce houses for the kids, cotton candy and Co****le to name a few.
We will be kicking the Labor Day weekend off Friday the 4th at 5:30 with a social hour, dinner will be served at 6:30.
Please bring your appetite, lawn chairs and beers if you would like. We will have waters, lemonade and tea.

Thank you to everyone that made it out today. We hope you enjoyed your day as much as we did. This was the first event put on by the RENEW crew. There were 16 teams that participated in the tournament today.
We couldn’t have asked for better weather. The hamburgers and hotdogs were cooked to perfection by the RENEW President, Isaac James. Thank you Jackson Meat for the great burgers and hotdogs. You can taste the quality in every bite.

City Beverage gets big thank you for donating a ton of Sparkling Ice that kept us all hydrated.

We had 5 different drawings for prizes, a Blackstone flat top grill, a set of shocks lawn chairs, and a nice set of co****le boards with bags.

The other two prizes were donated by Stanion Wholesale Electric of Hutchinson. A sweet Klein backpack Cooler and the Milwaukee M18 Hammer drill and Impact combo kit. Thank you Jackson, for those items.

We would also like to thank Nick with Sons of Pitches Co****le for running the tournament. He did a fantastic job from supplying the boards, bags, music, and some sweet merch to managing the matches.

Thank you Rylie Kuhn for designing the flyer. Last but not least thank you to our RENEW crew for taking the time to organizing and executing today’s event.

We would like to take a minute and thank Gary Kerwood for his 65 years in the IBEW and for his service in the US Army. It was a true honor to deliver his 65 year pin and certificate to him. He began his career with the IBEW in 1961 after serving in the US Army.

Fun fact, Gary told us when he started in the trade, he started at $1.80 an hour.

Next time you’re at the Hall, grab a hardhat sticker. When you scan the QR code it opens the CBA. Having access your contract just got a whole lot easier.

Our current contract went into effect on March 1st, 2026 and will expire on February 28th, 2028.

Local Union 661 RENEW Committee is hosting a Co****le Tournament on August 1st, 2026. At Orchard Park, 2911 E 43rd Ave, Hutchinson, KS 67502.

This is a cash only event, there will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers.

Teams of 2, with entry being $25 per person.

Contact Isaac James at 316-570-4992 to get your spot secured as there are only a limited amounts of spots available.
