Week 1 STEAM Spotlight: Circuit Creatures! Girlstart

Our 6–8 year old campers kicked off STEAM Camp by exploring the exciting world of electrical engineering through a hands-on Circuit Creatures activity.

Using batteries, LEDs, conductive tape, pipe cleaners, and plenty of creativity, campers learned how circuits work while designing and building their own glowing creations. From testing connections to watching their creatures light up, our young innovators discovered that STEM is all about curiosity, problem-solving, and imagination.

This activity was featured as part of our STEAM curriculum through Girlstart's Circuit Creatures lesson, giving campers the opportunity to explore engineering concepts in a fun and engaging way.

Week 1 is off to an incredible start, and our campers are already proving that big ideas can come from small circuits.

Only 2 days until our Summer STEAM Learning & Feeding Camp begins on Monday, June 8.

We are excited to welcome our campers for a summer filled with hands-on learning, creativity, discovery, new friendships, and fun. Our team has been preparing for weeks, and we can't wait to see what this year's campers will learn and accomplish.

Our Summer STEAM Learning & Feeding Camp begins Monday, June 8, and we can't wait to welcome our campers for an exciting summer of learning, creativity, discovery, and fun.

Over the next four weeks, students will engage in hands-on STEAM activities, build new friendships, explore new interests, and create memories that will last a lifetime.

In partnership with Compudopt, our free Pathways Technology Program offers hands-on digital skills training, career exploration, and workforce readiness for 15 high school students.

Participants will build valuable tech skills, explore career pathways, and gain exposure to future opportunities.

We’re proud to introduce a new opportunity for high school students at Cynthia Mickens Ministries.
This Summer Cynthia Mickens Ministries, in partnership with Compudopt, is offering a free Pathways Technology Program for high school students focused on hands-on digital skills, career, and workforce readiness.

Dates: June 8 – July 3
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 10:00 – 11:30 A.M.
Location: 302 West Palestine Street, Hutchins, TX 75141
Who: High school students ages 15–18

Participants will:
• Build digital and technology skills
• Explore career pathways
• Gain exposure to certifications, internships, and employment opportunities

This first-year program creates a direct pathway to real-world opportunities and long-term success.
