Join us at Cynthia Mickens Ministries as we partner with Grow North Texas to bring hands-on workshops that teach practical skills, connect our community, and inspire lifelong learning.
Whether you're interested in preserving homemade jams, discovering the world of honeybees, learning pickling techniques, or creating your own sourdough bread, these workshops are designed for beginners and experienced learners alike.

Week 1 STEAM Spotlight: Circuit Creatures! Girlstart

Our 6–8 year old campers kicked off STEAM Camp by exploring the exciting world of electrical engineering through a hands-on Circuit Creatures activity.

Using batteries, LEDs, conductive tape, pipe cleaners, and plenty of creativity, campers learned how circuits work while designing and building their own glowing creations. From testing connections to watching their creatures light up, our young innovators discovered that STEM is all about curiosity, problem-solving, and imagination.

This activity was featured as part of our STEAM curriculum through Girlstart's Circuit Creatures lesson, giving campers the opportunity to explore engineering concepts in a fun and engaging way.

Week 1 is off to an incredible start, and our campers are already proving that big ideas can come from small circuits.

Our Summer STEAM Learning & Feeding Camp begins Monday, June 8, and we can't wait to welcome our campers for an exciting summer of learning, creativity, discovery, and fun.

Over the next four weeks, students will engage in hands-on STEAM activities, build new friendships, explore new interests, and create memories that will last a lifetime.
